Game 1 Valcanico vs CB

Game one on day two of the Praia League was an exciting game to watch. Achada Grande Volcanico defeated CB Cidadela 87-80 win with the help of their star players Nasir Core, Jawan Stephany, and their big Cameron Clark. It is true what they say, things come in threes! The 6’8 guard Clark scored a total of 15 points—not only did he make it known that he is not a selfish player, but that he runs the paint. Core totaled 30 points once again leading the team to victory. Cidadela refused to give up a fight thanks to the help of one of their star guards Kobe Reeves who scored 34. The team leader Reeves was double teamed during the second half with little hopes in coming back for the win. Cidadela fell short and no longer stayed undefeated.

Game 2 Warriors vs Panthers

The power team of the day, Plateau Warriors finished day two with another win against the Achada Panthers. Both teams were undefeated and determined to stay that way. Panther’s guard Nick Manor Hall took the lead scoring 20 points in the first half all over the court. The game was not as simple as day 1. Warriors fought all the way until the end, winning by 14, their guard Josh Yorke-Frazer effortlessly scored 19 points enough to keep the lead and win. Aaron Strother’s protected the rim on offense and defense. The Warriors left everyone with a sour taste in their mouth and proving yet again they were not the team to play around with. The final score was 95-81 Panthers.

Game 3 Gorillas vs Sharks

Ponta D’ Agua Gorillas barely won game two against the Palmarejo Sharks, the final score was 88-80. Gorillas leading scorer Allex Austin dominated on both sides of the court showing passion, scoring 27 points. Mario Williams, also a Gorillas guard had something to prove last night as he easily showed the fans he is a shooter. Although the Gorillas lost their first game, the Sharks were in the hot seat with a loss under their belt also. The first half of the game, the sharks seemed like they had it all together, Charles Boozer was playing both ends of the court scoring 11 points, big man Malik Miller, 6’9 was crasing the boards with a total of 12 points. Jules Tavares was showing out scoring all game scoring an easy 20. Alwyn Sylva had yet another quiet game and couldn’t get his shots to fall. In the second half The Sharks could not score or keep it together allowing the Gorillas to take the lead and win.
