This week in Old Man Basketball, the men of leisure hit the courts for some thrilling regular season action, and boy, did we see a range of performances that would make any armchair coach shake their head in disbelief! Goldstein Dental, reigning atop the league like the least predictable dentist ever, continued their impressive streak with a solid win over Benzinga. With a score of 68-55, Goldstein's Bennie Szczepkowski put on a show, reminding everyone why they’re the team to beat. And really, can we give a round of applause to Goldstein for finding a way to turn brushing your teeth into a winning strategy?

Meanwhile, Nosan Signature Homes crushed Mosley Investments 82-53 like a lawnmower through dandelions. Jake Billmeyer’s astounding performance with 47 points left opposing players wishing they had picked up a different hobby this season. You might say he redefined ‘going off’ — I mean, this is a guy who probably had more points than Mosley invested in their own game plan!

In a nail-biter at Athletico, the home team squeaked past Detroit Build 46-45. Brandon Daniels was the star of the show, showing up with a heart-pounding 28 points, proving once again that those early morning yoga sessions really do pay off! Sorry, Detroit Build, it looks like your rebuilding phase might need a little more time…but hey, at least you’re still in the game!

Muscle Milk flexed their muscles (who could have guessed?) against Flirtin' With Disaster, winning decisively 60-43. Jeffrey Weeks lit it up with a sizzling 29 points, which is a solid reminder that sometimes a good protein shake is just what you need to get back in the game! Safe to say Flirtin' With Disaster was left wondering where their energy went — probably not in their shot selection.

Wallside Windows edged out Come Play Detroit in a close one, 52-49. Olin Troutman and Eric both had solid games, bringing their A-game in a matchup filled with tension. Meanwhile, Come Play might want to take a peek at their finishing moves — have they been practicing their free throws or just practicing their excuses?

Huron Gastro had an easy outing against Play For A Cause, winning 81-49 like it was just another day on the couch watching reruns. Joey Turner and Albert Robinson stole the spotlight with 31 and 26 points respectively, making it look easy. Hey Play For A Cause, any chance of a charity event for your performance this week?

In a thrilling finish, New Era Landscaping barely put away Ball Don’t Lie, winning 71-68. Jared Carithers stole the show with 27 points, landscaping his way straight to victory. Ball Don’t Lie had their moments, but they’ll need to dig deeper if they plan to compete with the top dogs.

And finally, we had DREAM Mobile coming in and solidifying their playoff position with a strong 47-35 victory over Social Media Store. Ryan Zinser led the charge with 13 points and enough assists to get a few of his teammates on the highlight reels. Social Media Store, your game plan seems to be as confusing as the comments section on your last post!

Overall, week one surely set the tone for some heated battles and fiery rivalries as we continue to witness the drama unfold in Old Man Basketball. It’s only going to get better from here, folks — stay tuned!
