It took two games, two halves, and two shootout rounds, but the final game ended on a sudden death shootout goal by Briley Maxwell.
The Pickers, led by all-purpose star Mike Triolo and goaltender Matt Hiebert, were able to sneak by the Sizzlers, led by star Jack Royer and goaltender Jace Lesanko, to capture the first annual Connor Anderson Cup.
In the semi finals, the Pickers bullied the Bullfrogs 7-3 and the Sizzlers edged the Muckmen in a 4-3 shootout nailbiter. The Bullfrogs ended the season on a high note, capturing bronze by getting by a Muckmen team playing back-to-back.
Thank you to the volunteers, referees, players, amd parents who made this a memorable month capped off by some elite, exciting lacrosse. Special thanks to the participants who came a long ways (Red Deer, Sylvain, Beaumont, Lloydminster, Cold Lake) to participate.
