FORT MACLEOD REC HOCKEY LEAGUE

*Rules & Regulations for 2020/2021 Season *

• Beer league rules apply
• No hooking, slashing, tripping, slap shots, body checking, etc is permitted
• All Hockey Canada rules apply
• Each game will consist of three 25 minute periods - with two 5 minute breaks in between periods
• In the event that one team is dominating, trades may be made during the Christmas Break as per committee’s discretion.
• This is a fun league. Please show respect for all players.
• If a player on any team is being disrespectful, it’s the responsibility of the team captain to regain control of the situation/player.
• Tie games will result in a shootout. Shootout order will be based on player ages from oldest to youngest.
• Fighting of any kind is not permitted. Consequences will be at the discretion of the board and could result in expulsion from the league.
• Each team will play 26 games.
• Captains will be given schedule for the season and are responsibly for distributing to their team members.
• There will be a 2 week break for the holiday season.
• No games scheduled for November 11 in observation of Remembrance Day.
• The season will conclude on March 11, 2021
• Please note this is our first year doing this type of league and we are learning as we go. If you have any concerns, please let the committee or your captain know. We thank you for your patience!

*COVID-19 Protocols *
• Masks are required at all times while in the arena and dressing rooms.
• Players may remove masks immediately prior to exiting the dressing room on their way to the ice.
• Players are only permitted 15 minutes in the dressing room before and after ice time.
• There will be no access to dressing rooms showers or restrooms.
• Lobby restrooms will continue to be available.
• The water fountain in the lobby will not be available; so please arrive with full water bottles. Please refrain from spraying water on the ice and in dressing rooms.
• Dressing rooms will be sprayed down after each team has left so no equipment is to be left in any of the dressing rooms, except during ice time.
• All previously distributed area guidelines and protocols remain in place; with the exception of using the bottom row of bleachers for skater prep/waiting area.
• Our league is responsible to ensure compliance to these requirements. We appreciate your cooperation. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in a warning. Should subsequent issues arise, ice time may be cancelled.
• Please keep in mind that with the COVID 19 situation further changes and amendments to area protocol may change throughout the season with little to no notice.
