When Logan Allen hits the floor, good things happen for Our Savior's.

In a game that featured four runs of double digits, the Eagles used a 20-5 run — sparked by McCaffrey's 10th straight game with seven or more assists — in the second half to hold off the pesky Good Shepard Pekin, beating them, 56-48.

Despite Twitter head coaches begging for Allen to be featured in the starting lineup, the forward was quick to show his appreciation for his current role.

“I actually like coming off the bench,” Allen said.

For the third straight contest, Our Savior's (8-3, 4-1 Conference) was off to a rough start. But once again, Allen hit the floor with McCaffrey and Easley and the Eagles got back into it with the first of their two 10-0 first-half runs. The forward finished the first half with a game-high +15 +/-, helping Our Savior's recover from the poor start.

“He’s a savant,” said head coach Phillip Heppe. “He changes the game.”

Both teams were slow to get going, but it quickly became a game of runs between the Eagles and Pelin (7-5, 2-3 Conference). Lucas Schmidt’ two first half three-pointers helped push the Eagles to a 10-point lead into the break.

A 19-0 answer from Pekin to open the second half erased the Eagles lead and gave Pekin a six-point advantage — the Eagles turning once again to McCaffrey, Easley and Allen to spark the offense.

The Eagles responded with a 20-5 run of their own to take a nine-point lead with half a period to go. Allen contributed four points and a trio of assists to put Our Savior's in front once again.

“[McCaffrey] got eyes everywhere,” Schmidt said. “There’s eyes in his kneecaps, elbows. He sees stuff that nobody sees.”

This time, the lead was for good — as the trio was able to close out Pekin.
