Valley Station, Kentucky - It's hard to maintain my composure and sanity when WLC BBALL takes a week off. Last week was lonely, miserable, boring and meaningless. And I'm not talking about Game of Thrones, a surprisingly popular program among Christians considering its pornographic content. And I'm not talking about Seth Curry outplaying his brother, either.
I'm talking about the pulled pork sandwich platter I ordered at Mark's Feed Store, a usually delicious and sumptuous BBQ joint just a stone's throw from Fort Knox. https://www.marksfeedstore.com/
I wasn't going to grab any gold from near General Patton's gravesite, but I thought I'd get some tasty golden brown chicken tenders to go with the fresh slaw and potato wedges. Alas, I couldn't catch a break. Just like I couldn't get seconds on the onion straws from Wanda, my hyperactive (and likely hypoglycemic) waitress. A gal who'd seen better days, and probably tried other ways, Wanda was stringing out her shift as I waited the results of the contested Kentucky Derby. What else was I going to do? The Derby gave me some gambling action since the WLC BBALL was on hiatus. When the itch hits, I scratch, and that means wagering on the ponies.
Luckily, this week's matchups give me some good lines to play and even some fresh prop bets (which will be posted Friday) on the over/under for Sivells three-point attempts in Week 3. In the meantime, if you're ever at Mark's Feed Store, be sure to get a slice of the buttermilk pie, and avoid Wanda. She's as ornery as Sammell swinging the rim lopsided on a Sunday night.
Oh, yeah, here's the coaches poll. We got four of them to vote this week, so we're making progress.
