Well it has been quite the start to the 2021 summer season for the WLC Basketball league. To recap the 1st week Black mambas had to coerce players from other teams to play along with them as they only had 3 players show up. It was quite the matchup as well, seeing that the game went into overtime. Mostly because of the scoring of Byron Williams who dropped 30+ points in a dogfight. The redeem team edged out the victory and for a nice plot twist Greg Bell who is the captian of the redeem team played AGAINST his own squad in battle. The second game of Dat smoke vs Big ballers was the quite the coming out party for Kalvin James. I guess him losing in the championship game lit a fire in him because he provided an efficient 16points for his squad leading them to victory. His squad being Dat smoke. Him and Adrian Templeman are set to go against their previous team captain in Greg Bell in WK 3 so I expect that one to be a good one. The 3rd and final game of WK 1 threw a screwball into operations as the commissioner had to dust of his referring chops and take over as the refs had to leave because of time complications and let's just say that I think he did alright lol. Back to the game though it was very competitive. It featured last season's champs Tray Ballers vs Posley's team. Captain Posley and Earl "The pearl" Mclaurin put up efficient numbers to will there team to victory however Tray ballers chemistry was too much to handle. Adrian Witherspoon was the main scorer for them while Canaan Etheridge who has a grit to his game provided an efficient 11points leading the team to victory.

Week 2 of the season kept that same energy from week 1 and gave us some great competition. The 1st game featured Dat smoke vs Posley's team. Kalvin James cooled off from week 1 but still provided scoring for his team with 13 points. However Earl "The Pearl" Mclaurin went on a scoring spree!! He dropped 29 points including the go ahead bucket with 10sec on the clock. You had to be there. Michael Lew of Dat smoke had a chance to take the lead he sized his man up, drove left for the lay but missed! The score was tied 44-44, Earl had the ball on the right side of the court with Kalvin James checking him. He waved off his teammates to make room. The commissioner who was keeping score and set to play next had yet to change his clothes because he was so excited to see what would happen. Earl started driving left, hit Kalvin with a in and out move to get just enough daylight to get to the hole and make the lay up. Dat smoke had 3 sec left to work with. They inbounded the ball but it was stolen. Game. Blouses. The next game featured the Redeem team vs Tray Ballers. It was competitve for most of the first half but then it got away from the Redeem team and Tray ballers won the game by 21points. Adrian Witherspoon led the way with 29points and 10rebs. The third game featured Big ballers vs Black Mambas. Byron Williams didn't drop 30+ points this time but he did drop a cool 18 points. It was good to see Justin Sivells back on the hardwood as well. He wasn't here in Wk 1 because he was chilling in Mexico. Glad to have you back Sivells. Big ballers is full of young athletic guys who can run nonstop and have a solid big man in Quinton drewery. He's already established himself as the Rasheed Wallace of the league. However it wasn't enough to beat Black mambas.

Well that wraps up the recap of the first two weeks of the WLC 2021 Season. It has definitely been a fun start and I know for a fact that it's gonna get better. The community has been given a show are itching to get back into the gym to see more highlights. Here are the power rankings so far:
