ABOUT THE LEAGUE **Valley Hoops (VHoops) **is an amateur basketball league organized by residents of communities in the vicinity of the Valley Golf Club to promote camaraderie, wellness and goodwill among the residents, particularly the youth. Games are held mostly in the covered courts of Palmera Heights , a subdivision located along Celso Tuazon Road inside the Valley Golf Club. Neighbouring subdivisions include Valley View Royale, Apple Village, Valley View , Upper Cuatro, Easter Heights, Victoria Valley, Suburban Heights, Richmond and Saint Anthony Subdivision. TOURNAMENT RULES 1. Team Roster 1.1 Open division – no player eligibility restrictions . Anyone can play. 1.2 Maximum of 20 players per team. 1.3 Player must play at least one elimination game to be able to play in the playoffs. 1.4 Team can add/change players during the elimination phase. 1.5 Team uniforms strictly required. 2. Tournament Format 2.1 Elimination – one round robin 2.2 Quarterfinals - top 2 teams qualify to the semis ; one game knockout - 3vs6 , 4vs5 ; last 4 teams will be eliminated 2.3.Semi-finals - No 1 vs winner of 4vs5 ; no.2 vs winner of 3vs6 – one game knockout; in case of a tie, winner over the other rule will apply ; in case of multiple ties , FIBA quotient system will be applied. If a team wins all its elimination round games, it will have a twice-to-beat advantage. 2.3 Finals – One game, winner take all 3. Fees and fines 3.1 Tournament fee – PhP 650 per game payable on or before start of scheduled game ; in case of default, defaulting team will still have to pay game fee before it can play in its next game. 3.2.Refundable bond of PhP1,000 to cover fines and penalties. In case fines assessed exceed the bond , this will have to be paid by the team as a condition for continued participation in the tournament 3.3 Technical fouls (players and coaches) – fine of P100 per infraction 3.4 Unsportsmanslike fine : 1st offense - PhP200 2nd Offense - PhP400 plus 1 game suspension 3rd Offense - PhP500 plus tournament suspension 3.5 Punching / fighting – PhP1,000 plus banning from league 3.6 Fines must be settled and suspensions must be served before erring player/coach can play/coach again. 4. Game Rules - Based on latest FIBA rules Rules are subject to change with proper notification to the teams prior to implementation.
