Week 3 delivered the kind of night that reshapes the standings and the storylines across the league.
The Gooners put together one of the most impressive team performances of the season, taking down defending champs SM Development 2-1. It wasn’t one star carrying the load - it was balance. Four players finished in double figures, showing just how difficult this group is to guard when everyone is a threat. The 50-point combined effort from Serfass and Dunne for SM Development simply wasn’t enough, as the loss bumps the champs down to the 2 seed.
Over in the Flight School matchup, Blaze Gonzalez continued his tear through the league. He poured in 46 points behind a league-record 13 made threes in a statement win. Every time Flight School needed a bucket, he delivered. Shane Rogers added a career-high performance of his own, making this one of the most explosive offensive outings we’ve seen all season.
Earlier in the night, history was made before most teams even hit the floor. Dave Maloney put on an all-time glass-cleaning clinic, ripping down 29 rebounds - a new league record - living up to the first six letters of his last name. He added 22 points for good measure as Sore. Losers. swept the Mambas 3-0 and sent a message to the rest of the league that they’re very much in the mix.
With seeds shifting, records falling, and stars separating themselves, the mid-season picture is getting clearer.
