πππ π π’π‘π: The Boys 63 - HIMBYs 51
The HIMBYs took on The Boys to kick off Week Two. After an electric start, the HIMBYs were poised to take control of the game early. But by the end of the first half, the steady and unrelenting Boys had clawed their way back to a 27-27 tie under the leadership of Gage Henley (18 pts). In the second half, Jesse Holmes of The Boys (game-high 19 points) took the helm and scored 15 points to put the HIMBYs away for good. Every player on the HIMBYs contributed to their point total, but it was simply not enough. The Boys (2-0) face the undefeated 6th Men (2-0) next week at 6:30PM. HIMBYs (0-2) take on Craft Team (0-2).
πππ π π§πͺπ’: Ballerz 56 - Craft Team 51
The Ballerz, coming off of a bye week, arrived ready to play in their first game of the season on Monday night against Craft Team. Buoyed by the undeniable chemistry between guard Michael Li (9 pts, 3 asts) and big Calvin Huh (12 pts, 8 rebs), the Ballerz came out hard, fast, and swinging. Craft Team (0-2) stayed close behind the entire way, within striking distance at every turn. The hot shooting and playmaking of new addition Chris Head (18 pts, 5 asts) and the constant slashing by last weekβs league-leader in points Dezmond Chatman (12 pts) kept Craft Team in the hunt for their first win. However, The Ballerzβ Seth Cordts (team-high 14 pts) had some late game free throws and strong finishes that were the nail in the coffin for Craft Team. Craft Team (0-2) duels the winless HIMBYs (0-2) next week at 7:45PM. At 9PM, the Ballerz (1-0) face off against Here For Exercise (1-0), who enjoyed a bye week this week.
πππ π π§ππ₯ππ: 6th Men 86 - Saj and Friends 66
In the highest scoring affair this season, the late night dance between the 6th Men and Saj and Friends saw 3 players score over 20+ points including Arron Mollet (27 pts, SAF) and newcomer Authman Ibrahim (26 pts, 6M) and 4 more score over 10+ points, including Charles Barratt (15 pts, SAF), Austin Liou (12 pts, SAF), Malik Boykin-Reece (11pts, 6M) and Tariq Byrd (11pts, 6M). From the starting tip, however, the 6th Men were comfortably in control of the game. Hard nosed defense and seemingly endless energy propelled 6M to a 14 point lead by the end of the first half. SAFβs Mollet sliced the lead to 8 after running up 20 of his 27 points, including four 3 pointers, in the final half of the game, but there was too much time on the clock for the 6th Men to repel the effort and they coasted to their second win. In an undefeated showdown, the 6th Men (2-0) play The Boys (2-0) next week at 6:30PM. Saj and Friends (0-2) will try to refocus after a bye week in Week 3.
