Springfield, IL -- Conor McCaffrey and Jace Easley once again proved why they are the most dynamic duo in the LSA, combining for 52 points as O.S. Springfield extended its win streak to 10 games with a convincing 65-50 victory over New Berlin on Thursday night.

McCaffrey led all scorers with 27 points, grabbing 14 rebounds to notch his 29th double-double of the season—his 39th consecutive regular-season double-double. Easley matched his backcourt partner’s brilliance, dropping 25 points while recording 12 rebounds and 12 assists, marking just his third career triple-double.

The Eagles (24-5, 9-3) completely dominated the rebounding battle, outworking New Berlin 46-18 on the glass, and their efficient shooting (54% from the field) proved too much for the visitors, who shot just 41%.

With his performance, McCaffrey now sits just 35 assists away from becoming the LSA’s all-time career leader, another milestone in an already storied career.

Meanwhile, O.S. Coach Phillip Heppe secured his 50th career victory, becoming the fastest coach in program history to reach the mark, accomplishing the feat in just 67 games.

“Conor and Jace both had great nights, as the stats show,” Heppe said. “They were both so efficient, too.”

New Berlin (24-6, 8-5) was led by Gannon Dodd (19 points) and Lucas Bixby (11 points), but their efforts weren’t enough to overcome Springfield’s superior physicality and firepower.

After the game, New Berlin coach Thomas had nothing but respect for Springfield’s star duo:

“I don’t think there’s any doubt—McCaffrey and Easley, by far, are the two best players on the floor,” Thomas said. “That’s not a shock. We knew coming in that those guys were going to be a handful. And they were.”

Springfield continues to surge, sitting near the top of the conference with their longest winning streak in program history. With McCaffrey approaching an LSA assist record and Easley continuing to dominate, the Eagles are shaping up to be a dangerous force heading into the season’s final stretch.
