BLOOMINGTON, IL -- Jace Easley etched his name in LSA history as the greatest scorer of all time, surpassing the previous all-time points record with a dominant 32-point performance. In front of a packed crowd at the Illinois Wesleyan Shootout Quarterfinals, Easley reached a historic 3,323 career points, solidifying his legacy as the most prolific scorer the LSA has ever seen.

His clutch second-half performance proved to be the deciding factor in O.S. Springfield’s victory over #18-ranked Moline, as Easley erupted for 18 of his 32 points in the final seven minutes, turning a nail-biter into a convincing win. With each shot, each drive, and each defensive stand, Easley demonstrated exactly why he belongs in the conversation as one of the greatest players in the history of the LSA.

"He's been working at this for a long time, and for him to finally achieve that goal, it's so impressive," said Conor McCaffrey, Easley’s longtime teammate and co-captain. "I'm just really proud of him. I’ve watched him grind, I’ve seen the time and effort he’s put in, and I’m glad to have been a part of this journey."

This moment was the culmination of years of dedication, resilience, and dominance, a milestone that had been looming on the horizon for Easley, but never distracted him from his ultimate goal—leading O.S. Springfield to a championship.

Ranked #19 in the state, O.S. Springfield (19-5, 6-3) entered this game with a point to prove, and they delivered in emphatic fashion. Facing off against a tough Moline squad (18-8, 6-2), ranked #18 statewide, the Eagles showcased the depth, resilience, and elite talent that have made them one of the most feared teams in the LSA.

-- Conor McCaffrey, the heart and soul of the team, once again put together a complete performance, recording 21 points and 13 assists. His ability to control the game’s tempo, find Easley in critical moments, and step up as a scorer proved invaluable.

-- Logan Allen, stepping into a bigger role, delivered a career-high 12 points, providing crucial interior scoring and rebounding to balance out the attack.

-- Defensive effort and execution down the stretch allowed the Eagles to turn a tight contest into a double-digit lead, fueled by Easley’s scoring burst in the final minutes.

O.S. Springfield’s ability to close out games against elite competition continues to be one of their biggest strengths, and with momentum on their side, they punched their ticket to the Illinois Wesleyan Shootout Semifinals, where they will face Yorkville Christian.

While Easley’s scoring milestone was the headline of the night, Conor McCaffrey is on his own historic trajectory. The multi-dimensional playmaker is on pace to shatter multiple LSA records, adding another layer to O.S. Springfield’s storied season.

-- McCaffrey now sits at 2,109 career points, making him the second-highest scorer in O.S. Springfield history.

-- With 1,034 career assists, he is now less than 80 assists away from the all-time LSA record, showcasing his elite court vision and playmaking ability.

-- Additionally, McCaffrey is just nine three-pointers away from the all-time LSA record of 251, further cementing his status as one of the most complete guards in league history.

Unlike Easley, whose historic scoring dominance defines his legacy, McCaffrey is on pace to be remembered as one of the most well-rounded, high-IQ players to ever step on an LSA court.

While the historic moment was not lost on the O.S. Springfield locker room, Head Coach Phillip Heppe made it clear that the work is far from over.

"Jace is a special player, always has been, but what is most important is his character," Heppe said. "A record like this doesn’t happen without incredible teammates, and he knows that. He’s going to be the first one to give credit to his guys, because that’s who he is—classy, humble, and focused on winning, not just records. But at the same time, we’ve got our sights set on bigger things. We’re not satisfied yet."

This team isn’t just chasing records—they’re chasing championships. And as Easley, McCaffrey, and the rest of the Eagles continue to elevate their play, they are proving to the rest of the state that O.S. Springfield is a force to be reckoned with.

With their quarterfinal victory secured, O.S. Springfield turns its attention to the semifinals against Yorkville Christian.

Yorkville has been one of the toughest defensive teams in the state, and they’ll bring everything they have to try and slow down Easley and McCaffrey’s offensive onslaught.

But if this season has shown anything, it’s that when Easley and McCaffrey are locked in, there may be no team in the LSA capable of stopping them.
