Springfield, IL - O.S. Springfield (8-1) esponded emphatically after their first loss of the season, rolling past Christ The King (6-2) 83-68 in a dominant non-conference victory Sunday night.

Behind Jace Easley’s 34 points and career-high 16 rebounds, along with Conor McCaffrey’s 29 points and 13 assists, the Eagles shot 58% from the field and controlled the game from start to finish.

This victory served as a statement performance, proving that Springfield had quickly regrouped from their setback against Immanuel Seymour last week.

Springfield wasted no time establishing control, opening the game on a 14-2 run.

-- McCaffrey orchestrated the offense flawlessly, pushing the tempo and setting up teammates for high-percentage shots.

-- Easley dominated the boards, securing a career-high 16 rebounds, helping Springfield control the paint.

-- Jeremiah Perkins chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds, adding much-needed physicality inside.

Springfield’s sharp outside shooting also played a key role, as they hit 9-of-14 from deep, including 6-of-8 in the first half to build a commanding lead.

By early in the second half, the Eagles were up by 19 points, and never allowed Christ The King back into the game.

Despite a strong effort from Paul Hartman (19 points), Christ The King shot just 40% from the field and 5-of-22 from three, struggling to match Springfield’s efficiency.

Former Eagle Drew Dejanyes added 11 points and 5 assists, while Bryce Musgrave (15 points) and Tony Kaminging battled foul trouble throughout the night.

After the game, CTK head coach Hartman admitted Springfield’s experience and discipline were the difference:

"We got beat by a team that’s better than we are—older, more mature. They kind of imposed their will on us. We’re not there yet. We’ve got a lot to learn, but we’re close."

With the bounce-back win, O.S. Springfield proves once again why they are among the LSA’s elite.

LSA analyst Marcus Taylor commented on the significance of the victory:
"This was exactly what Springfield needed after the Seymour loss. They showed maturity, adjusted their game plan, and controlled the tempo. That’s the mark of a great team."

With Easley and McCaffrey leading the way, the Eagles are once again building momentum as they continue their quest for an LSA championship.
