Springfield, IL -- In a showcase of offensive firepower, O.S. Springfield (5-0) dominated Danville 122-60 in their home opener at the Springfield Our Savior's Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Eagles put on a shooting clinic, knocking down a school-record 18 three-pointers, with seven from Conor McCaffrey, four from Jace Easley, and three from Lucas Schmitt. By halftime, O.S. Springfield had already built an insurmountable 58-19 lead.

This latest victory further cements O.S. Springfield's dominance in the LSA and shows that the team is hitting its stride just five games into the season.

For the second straight game, Jace Easley and Conor McCaffrey delivered superstar performances.

Easley, already one of the most dominant scorers in LSA History, showed why he is featured on numerous preseason watch lists. The New Berlin native set the tone early and finished with a statement performance.

"We still have that chip on our shoulder," Easley said postgame. "We know our expectations. We know our ceiling. I think we're nowhere near our ceiling, and the whole team knows that."

McCaffrey, meanwhile, contiuned his historic playmaking streak, breaking defenses down and distributing the ball at a record-setting pace.

McCaffrey's 16-assist performance was yet another milestone in his record-setting season. With 19 consecutive double-doubles, he is now four games away from breaking Shaun Livingston's LSA Record for most consecutive double-doubles (23), set during the 2001-02 season at Concordia Peoria.

McCaffrey, however, isn't focused on individual numbers.

"I just try to find my guys and put them in the best spots to succeed," he said. "Jace, Lucas, Noah, Jeremiah--everyone is stepping up. I just want to keep doing what I can to help us win."

Easley's scoring explosion puts him just 332 points away from breaking Shaun Livingston's record as the LSA's All-Time Leading Scorer. Meanwhile, McCaffrey is just 88 assists away from passing Livingston for the all-time LSA assist record.

McCaffrey is also closing in on another historic mark, needing just 87 more points to reach 2,000 career points at Our Savior's-- a feat very few have ever achieved.

LSA Basketbal historian Marcus Taylor commented on the duo's impact on the league:
*What we're witnessing is nothing short of legendary. These two are rewriting the LSA record books, and they're doing it while leading their teams to historic wins."

With O.S. Springfield firing on all cylinders, the rest of the LSA is offically on notice.

The Eagles' next test will come against another ranked opponent, as they look to keep their undefeated season alive and continue their historic start.

If this 122-point explosion is any indication, O.S. Springfield is proving they are not just an LSA powerhouse, but a team that belongs in the conversation with Illinois' best.
