SUMMER '18 GAME OF THE WEEK HIGHLIGHT (WEEK TWO)

It was a low scoring affair between Tsawwassen and Metrosquad which we'll be covering for our weekly game spotlights.
Chauncey Williams is a premier Point Guard for Abby Secondary School and demonstrate great "point-guard" like skills
against Tsawwassen. He also was a versatile scorer from the paint and could pull up from ease in the mid-range. Some of his
weaknesses is the three point percentage, he shot 2 from the field and made none. We look forward to him developing these skills
throughout the summer league.

We absolutely love Summer League, it allows the players the chance to practice their game and demonstrate them throughout the
summer, we'll see amazing progresses and changes throughout players from June, the beginning of the season to the very end of
the season in September. We've seen players average around 3-4 points a game in the beginning of the season go all the way to 20-25
points a game around September. We've arranged our schedule so that the players would get either early or late gym times with an occassional two-back-to-back games in one day. We've seen tremendous potential in Fischer Phillip and it's evident that Fischer has
improved as a player since last year. He's helped his team in winning games and has shown to be an excellent leader on the court. This is a kid that used to come off the bench and average 2 points per game and is now the start for Metrosquad and is one of their leading scorers and go-to-players late in game situations.

Jyrell Tatum and Rex Okagun are backcourt monsters, they are a dynamic duo and is what makes Tsawwassen stand out as a team. Jyrell is a lengthy 6'7" Forward with amazing athleticism and strength. Meanwhile Rex is a dual-threat and is one of the best two-way guards that this league has seen in a while. He's a versatile 6'5" guard that can do almost everything out in the court. Tsawwassen loves to brag about their two youngsters and we'll fully support them. We look forward to seeing them do even more as the season progresses.

1ST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
Tsawwassen started out the game and opened with a bang, they executed their gameplan extremely well and their intense focus allowed
them to get quick transition opportunities for them. Meanwhile, Metrosquad struggled to guard Tsawwassen from the perimeter and it escalated to the paint as well. By the end of the first quarter, Metrosquad was getting dominated completely by Tsawwassen in almost every aspect of the game. During the second quarter, Metro started to get their game together, they formulated a good gameplan and sticked to it. Their lead point guard, Chauncey Williams allowed for very easy points off turnovers which is what fueled a great 8-2 run late into the second quarter. By the end of the first half, Tsawwassen was only leading by 3 points.

2ND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
Tsawwassen began to crumble a bit defensively as Chauncey Williams began to lead his Metrosquad roster to a comeback. Tsawwassen was still scoring well offensively however their defense allowed points on the other end allowing it to keep it close for the majority of the game. At the end of the third quarter, Coach Benjamin Foster drew up great defensive strategies to stop Metrosquad from completing their comeback. The score was neck and neck until the very end, which is when Tsawwassen made a few excellent key defensive stops to deny the comeback that Metrosquad was mounting.

Final
Tsawwassen 64 | Metrosquad 56
Overall Tsawwassen played a solid game offensively and defensively however their defense game broke down
late in the second quarter and didn't fully regain it's motor throughout the rest of the game. Metrosquad had some really
good runs late into the fourth quarter but their defensive game was atrocious and couldn't counter any of Tsawwassen's
attacks. We look forward to more exciting games like this throughout the summer season.
