League Conduct
This is a league reminder that any conduct detrimental to our league will result in a possible suspension or expulsion from the league. The league will not tolerate any behavior that puts the league at risk from operating, or destroys the reputation of the league. We are trying to promote a healthy, fun and friendly, but intense and competitive environment for all. The league sees some amazing talent getting after it and competing each week. There are families and young kids at the games, high school athletes working the games and watching each week, and the mayor and other other city officials who stop in to watch games.
The league does not tolerate any fighting and those who continue to escalate situations repeatedly each week will be asked to leave. We are not here to babysit adults and have to stop the games to separate players each week. This is a reminder to be conscious of how you treat others. Any verbal disrespect, physical contact, or threats to an official will not be tolerated and will result in technicals, suspension, and/or expulsion as seen fit. If you can not play basketball without being able to deal with calls that you disagree with in a respectful manner, then you shouldn’t be playing basketball or in the league. The officials shouldn’t have to hear constant complaining for the entirety of a game, on every call. Officiating is an impossible job.
We are lucky to have a league. We are lucky the city allows us to use the armory. We are lucky to have the support of our mayor. And we are lucky there are officials willing to officiate an adult league.
All participants in the league, in the face of enjoying healthy and intense competition, must act in a respectful manner towards all other players, coaches, officials, scorekeepers, and fans.
Many youth athletes and young children are watching at all times. Playing in the league is a privilege and opportunity to be a strong role model for those in the community watching.
