Michael Beasley, who spent seven NBA seasons trying to reach his potential as the No. 2 pick in the 2008 draft before taking his career to China, is reportedly signing with the Rockets as Houston searches for any boost to stay in the final Western Conference playoff spot.
ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, who first reported the news, said Beasley signed for the rest of this season with the Rockets holding a team option for 2016-17.
Beasley, 27, last played in the NBA in 2014-15, in his second stint with the Heat as part of a career that also included stops with Timberwolves and Suns. In China this season, he was named MVP.
