Michaelhouse (MHS) National Basketball Association (NBA) Senior League
The league will have 66 games played across two conferences (Eastern and Western). Each conference has 6 teams who will play each other team in their conference once (5 intra-conference games per team) and each of the teams in the other conference once (6 inter-conference games per team). At the end of the regular season the top 3 teams in each conference's standings will participate in the playoffs to see who is the eventual champion. The champion team will be treated to pizzas at VdeV.
A few points of interest...
1. There will also be prizes for the MVP of the regular season, MVP of the playoffs, best 3 point shooter (according to percentage accuracy) and team with the best sportsmanship.
2. Trades will be allowed from after the first Saturday of league fixtures. Trade rules will be available below shortly.
3. Please take note of the following team rules that need to be adhered to...
* All players are required to:
1. Dress in the correct basketball uniform and will not be allowed to play if dressed incorrectly.
2. report to the scorers table of the correct IC court 10 min before their game is due to start. Players who do not report will be marked as 'did not play' and this information will be shared with housemasters to indicate which boys are bunking.
3. act appropriately towards their teammates, the opposition and staff. Any breaches of acceptable behavior will result in penalties for the individual and their team.
* Captains are required to:
1. ensure all players on the team roster play in every game and to try their best to ensure fairness for all players.
2. communicate with their team about potential trades.
3. negotiate trades fairly with opposition team captains.
4. submit trade agreement forms to the commisioners of the senior league (Mr Sliedrecht) or junior league (Mr Blockley) before each week's trade deadline (see trade rules below).
