Voting for the LSA Player of the Year is offically open.

The Lutheran Sports Association in partnership with the Chicago Tribune released its 5 finalists on Monday for the annual Boys middle school basketball award. The top prep boys players to win the award include Shaun Livingston (2002) and Adam Miller (2016).

Lathan Sommerville, Christ Lutheran
The Peoria Richwoods enrollee had a monster season averaging 28.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.3 blocks in guiding the Comets (37-5) to a Runner-Up Finish in the 2020 LSA State Tournament. He ends his career at Christ's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Adam Miller (1,789) and is a two-time all LSA 1st team member.

Jace Easley, Springfield Our Savior's
The LSA All-Time Leading scorer averaged 27.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 3.2 steals and 2.1 blocks to lead Springfield Our Savior's (39-6) to the schools first conference championship and LSA State Title. Easley is the school's leading scorer, rebounder, steals and WS leader.

Conor McCaffrey, Springfield Our Savior's
The Robin to Easley's Batman: McCaffrey surpassed Shaun Livingston in total assists for the LSA, while upping his offense to 27.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 10.1 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks. Our Savior's knocked off 17x defending conference champions Christ Lutheran led by Sommerville. In the 3 games Easley missed, McCaffrey averaged 37.3 points and beat 2 top 25 ranked teams.
