game 1

Team Kamal Vs Team Monawar) (Winner: Team Monawar)

This match up pitted the leagues top 2 guards against one another in Monawar and Kamal. Team Monawar is sitting on an undefeated record while team kamal was considered one of the favorites before the season started. If this game told us anything, its that one team has figured it out while another, isback to the drawing board.

Messy turnovers stifled team Kamal’s offense at one point falling behind by 20 pts. Kamal did what Kamal does, and brought his team back. But Team Monawar withstood the Kamal lead run and help on to victory.

Monawar led his team with an efficient 24 pts shooting over 60% from the field. I believe he now has to be mentioned in the mvp discussion. Kamal led with team with 18 pts followed by his brother Bilal who continues to greatly out play his draft position with 17 pts. One word of advice for team Kamal, 10 shots for Kamal, is not a winning formula.

Some things to consider moving forward:

Team Monawar is playing excellent and unselfish basketball leading to an undefeated season. Some of their players are still rusty and thus there is still room for improvement which is intimidating from an undefeated team.

For team Kamal, I would say ignore this game and get back to playing like you were early in the season.

Game 2

Team Larry vs Team Joe ( Winner Team Joe)

When watching this game, it looked like a different team Joe. The ball moved around flawlessly. They gave a dose of iso ball, coupled with fast breaks, with a dab of low post play, and of course, 3 pt shooting. A full offensive display was provided from Team Joe. Team Joe seemed to have control from early on and did not let up.

Team Joe was led by Fujo the other league mvp with 31 pts. Showing that he is not to be forgotten in this league. Followed by Joe who had 17 pts with a 60% fg percentage. Along with Ahmed Chamander who displayed down low play and 3 pt shooting for a total of 17 pts shooting over 60% from the field and 75% from the 3.
Mo Soffi Lead his team with 18 pts. He was followed by owl with 13 pts.

Some things to consider moving forward:

Team Joe: This new form of team ball displayed proved very hard to slow down and look for them to build on this momentum. They showed they can win without needing Joe to have a game as he is considered one the best players in the league.

Team Larry looks to integrate the best shooter in the league all while building chemistry with each other in the in the interim.

Game 3: Team Bosh vs Team Manea (Winner Team Bosh)

This game seemed competitive early on, but then team Bosh grabbed a hold of it and did not let up. At times, the game got ugly for both team with turn overs. But with a healthy dose of Bosh, mixed with a steady dose of efficient 3 pt shooting, team bosh put this one away.

Bosh led his team with 26 pts. Followed by Farris who impressed going 3 of 4 from the 3 pt line. For team Manea, Ali Tony led his team with 20 pts.

Some things to consider moving forward:

For team bosh, the ball movement and smart basketball was on full display again. They still have who is probably going to be the steal of the draft Mo Elhaj coming back which is extremely intimidating.

For Team Manea, give Nader the ball.

Game 4: Team Hussein vs Team Mike (Winner: Team Hussein)

What a game this was. Team Mike, shocking most of the league, took control of this game early and held a lead most of the game. Then in the 2nd half, team captain and mvp candidate Hussein, decided enough was enough and ran thru team Mike. Hussein drove to the rim and penetrated that defense play after play to close the gap and take the lead.

Team Mike looked like they were going to win it, but Hussein proved to be over whelming and brought the victory for his team home.

Abdullah led his team with 17 pts displaying an array of offensive moves. Hussein led all scorers for the night with an impressive 33 pts followed by his first rd pick Mo who scored 17 pts in this match up.

Some things to consider moving forward:

Team Mike is still not playing with their full team and now have to integrate Hamadah. Hamadah whose one of the most talented offensive players in Dearborn, should have the ball in his hands more. In terms of Team Hussein, they showed they have a Joker card to use when they see fit as Hussein seems to be a match up issue for everyone.

Please note, these rankings are my personal opinion and not just based on what the stat chart shows. I tried to consider situations such as playing time, positions played on the court, and opportunities. Thanks.
