Week 3 CRSD League
RECAP and Player Rankings
Game 1
Team Bosh vs Team Larry (Winner team Bosh)
This game pitted who many consider to be the leagues top 2 players (Bosh and Larry) against one another and it did not disappoint. From the moment of tip off, both players came out firing. It was a close game with team bosh leading most of the game. During a pivotal moment in the game, JJ came off the bench for some instant offense and showed the league he is a highly underrated 3 pt shooter. A quick adjustment sending one of team Bosh’s elite defenders quickly neutralized the JJ threat.
Bosh led his team with 31 pts and 24 boards. Ray continued to display his elite shooting hitting 3 of 6 from the 3. Omar chipped in with double digit points and rebounds and Farris continued to play at a high level.
Larry led his team with 19 pts and Mo Suffi chipped in with 10 pts.
Team Bosh moves into the Bye Week with the expected return of their starting shooting guard Mo Elhaj as team Larry who showed many positives will continue to build chemistry as a team to get it going.
Game 2
Team Kamal vs Team Joe ( Winner Team Kamal)
This game could best be explained by the tale of 2 halves. The game started with team joe making Kamal’s team look elementary. They abused them on the fast break, and with a healthy dose of first round pick Chamander, abused them in the post. But then something happened. The ball stopped getting in the post, the fast break was neutralized, and the only one that was left scoring was joe Bazzi.
At this point, Kamal abandoned the iso ball which had failed him in the first half and got his teammate’s involved to a level not seen since Magic Johnson retired. From this point, team Kamal took control of the game and ended it.
Joe led his team with an amazing stat line of 34 points and 25 rebounds. Chamander also dominated on the glass with 14 rebounds and Romeo finished with 10 rebounds. Team joe looks to mend relationships with emotions riding high after their defeat. Fujo, the MVP of the 35 plus league was seen talking to a few captains after the game after a few mouse traps were set. He claims he was just saying high but we believe there is more to this story.
Game 3: Team Hamadah vs Team Monawar (Winner Team Monawar)
Throughout the week, Munawar sent verbal shots at Hamadah in the league chat. His confidence was sky high and his end of game stats were even high. Monawar who has been playing more passive this season and moving the ball, showed he can still take over a game when he needs to.
The game started with team Hamadah taking control of the game early. Then Monawar put in his cape and went superman on them. Dropping a stat line that reminds us of Oscar Robinson with a triple double. He finished the night with 35 pts, 17 rebounds, 10 assists and an assault charge. He also got help from 2 of the leagues draft steals from tmac (15 pts) and saif algotti’s ( 14 pts). They also kicked in 12 rebounds and 13 rebounds each.
Hamadah had a slow offensive night as he faced double and tipple teams all night. Even though he made many good passes, the team failed to capitalize. Yakeen had a career night with 22 pts and 14 rebounds.
Sources tell me that many people want to be traded and the team is now in open rebellion. Certain captains had to turn off their phones as to avoid calls from Hamadah teammates with trade requests. The league is looking into different options they have to be able to help team hamadah compete.
Game 4: Team Manea vs Team Mike
In display of heart, grit, and courage not seen since Rocky took on Drago, team Mike faced team Manea with only 4 players and almost won the game. The game was tight all game with Abdullah showing that he indeed was holding back his first 2 games. Even while missing one of the leagues best players in captain Mike Williams, they still managed to compete.
Ali Tony, who was seen paying random people to come to the gym to cheer him out in hopes of countering Nader Nation, failed to live up to his early first round pick status. The team almost lost until they realized what was best for business and got the ball to superstar Nader Elabed who added another game winning shot to his resume now only 2nd to Michael Jordan. Nader continued serving more double double’s than Tim Hortons finishing the game with over 10 in both rebounds and scoring.
Please note, these rankings are my personal opinion and not just based on what the stat chart shows. I tried to consider situations such as playing time, positions played on the court, and opportunities. Thanks.
