Lions Perception Men’s Basketball League Rules
GAME LENGTH
Four 10 minute quarters.
Running clock for the first half.
Time will stop on all whistles for the last 2 minutes of the second half.
If lead is exceeded by 20, will be a running clock the rest of the game.
OVERTIME
One 2 minute period. Clock stops on last minute.
Fouls from second half will carry over.
If score is still tied, will go into a free throw shootout by players on court to determine winner.
TIMEOUTS
2 30-second timeouts per quarter. Timeouts DO NOT carry over into next half.
Each time will be rewarded 1 timeout in overtime.
FOULS/RULES
NBA,Fiba,Unique Rules
Jump balls, free throws, inbound rules, over and back, halfcourt rules
5 second count
No shot clock
At 6 fouls on players automatically is 2 freethrows and other team goes into bonus 1 and 1if player stays on court /2 techs ejected
1 and 1 Bonus on 7th team foul, Double bonus on 10th team foul. Team fouls reset each half.
Technical foul counts as personal foul but not team foul.
1 free throw for any technical foul and loss of possession.
2 technical fouls in one game is a disqualification from that game. Any player ejected from a game must leave the premises.
If a player is ejected twice during the league, they will be disqualified from participating in the league.
ROSTER
Need at LEAST 4 roster players to play
Teams will be given a 5 minute grace period if they are unable to field 4 players from the scheduled start time of their game. After the grace period, it will be a forfeit.
You must register prior to game start.
No non-roster players allowed to participate/if so game will be forfeited.
Please notify the commissioners if you know you will not have enough to play.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Subs will be made at the scorer’s table at a dead ball. You must check in with the scorer’s table first. Wait for the official’s signal to check into game.
COURT CONDUCT
No profanity, you’ll be given a reminder/warning pre-game and after that the referee will give a technical foul.
No fighting will be tolerated - You fight and you’re kicked out of the league. If a punch is thrown or a ref thinks it was a punch it’s considered a fight.
Any verbal or physical threat to any score keeper, official, staff or another league player will result in the player’s immediate dismissal from the league. There are no warnings for this infraction.
MISCELLANEOUS RULES
A referee may call a game before time is up to ensure safety and to avoid altercations between teams,
The commissioners shall have the authority to rule on circumstances not covered by the rules.
Stats will be kept, if you see the people working stats, do not go over and talk to them! They are trying to stay focused and get you the most accurate stats they can.
