Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlanta Steam proved their dominance once again, dispatching the Atlantic City Jokers with a commanding 35-7 victory in an arena football showdown at the Tropicana Field. The Steam's high-powered offense and suffocating defense left the Jokers with little room to breathe as Atlanta extended their winning streak with a flawless performance across all phases of the game.
From the opening whistle, the Steam showcased their efficiency and firepower. Quarterback Dakota Hughes was sharp, throwing for over 200 yards and two touchdowns, including a 25-yard strike to Kendall White in the first quarter that gave Atlanta an early lead. With Avery Ramirez pounding the ball on the ground, the Steam had little trouble dictating the tempo.
"We came into this game with one goal: to execute and not make mistakes," said Hughes after the game. "The offensive line did a fantastic job, and Avery was outstanding, making those tough yards when we needed them."
The first quarter was all Atlanta, as they quickly built a two-touchdown lead. Avery Ramirez, who was a key cog in the Steam's offense, capped off the opening drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. The Steam defense, led by linebacker Ximena Torres and defensive linemen Lena Hines and Marisa Jenkins, stifled the Jokers' attempts to get any momentum going.
In the second quarter, the Steam piled on the points. Ramirez added a second touchdown, this time a 3-yard run, to put Atlanta up 21-0. When Hughes found Tori Williams for a 21-yard touchdown late in the quarter, it was clear the Jokers had no answer to the Steam's relentless offense.
"Our offense was clicking, but I really have to give credit to our defense," said Avery Ramirez, who finished with over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns. "We dominated the line of scrimmage and didn't give them any chance to get going."
The third quarter saw Atlanta Steam continue to dominate. Despite leading 28-0, Atlanta didn't take their foot off the gas. Ramirez punched in another touchdown on a 4-yard run, making it 35-0, and the Steam were cruising to a lopsided victory.
As the game neared its conclusion, the Atlantic City Jokers finally found the end zone. With just over 6 minutes left in the game, Kendra Madison, who had struggled throughout the contest, connected with tight end Ciara O'Dwyer on a 10-yard pass for the Jokers' lone touchdown. However, it was too little, too late for the Jokers, who were unable to mount any serious comeback.
The Jokers' defense, which had been gashed by the Steam’s offensive line, had no answer to the speed and skill of the Atlanta playmakers. Sasha Volkov, who had a few nice catches, was the most consistent offensive weapon for Atlantic City, but it wasn't enough to break through the Steam's defense.
Despite the loss, Jokers' coach, James McFadden, took solace in the final drive. "It’s important for us to keep fighting, even when the scoreline isn’t in our favor. That last touchdown showed our character, but we’ve got a long way to go. We’ll get back to work."
Key Performances:
Dakota Hughes (ATL) – 2 touchdown passes, 200+ yards passing
Avery Ramirez (ATL) – 2 touchdowns, 100+ yards rushing

With the win, the Atlanta Steam improve to 7-2, keeping pace in the playoff race. Meanwhile, the Atlantic City Jokers fall to 2-7 and remain in rebuild mode, searching for consistency on both sides of the ball.
"We know we have the talent to be better than this," said Coach McFadden. "We just need to focus on the details and build from the ground up."
The Atlanta Steam will next host the Tennessee Royals, a match that could have significant playoff implications. The Jokers, on the other hand, will look to rebound as they travel to face the Birmingham Fury in their next outing.
Final Score: Atlanta Steam 35, Atlantic City Jokers 7.
