JG League

What a wild week it was in the JG League, with SPLASH MOB making a splash at the top and sending SWISS CHEESE tumbling down to second place in the standings! SPLASH MOB capitalized on their momentum, adding two more wins to extend their current streak to three, including a blowout victory that turned the scoreboard into a veritable highlight reel. On the other end of the spectrum, HEATWAVE was unable to get their first win of the season after suffering their tenth consecutive defeat, while CARDS enjoyed a fruitful week, winning both their matchups against ISO COLD and HEATWAVE, bolstering their record to .500. Buckle up, because excitement is brewing as we head into the playoffs this Sunday!

SPLASH MOB 122, HEATWAVE 99

It was a tale of two different worlds on the court as Splash Mob lit it up while Heatwave struggled to find their footing, continuing their streak of misfortune. Brayden Chandler put on a show with a jaw-dropping 57 points, sizzling past the previous game with a stunning personal best, while Carter Brown not only helped keep the momentum going with a triple-double—15 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists—but also snagged two blocks. Heatwave's Duece Dodd definitely brought his A-game, dropping a personal best of 32 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, and Jonathan Ferrara added another strong outing with 24 points and a double-double of his own. Even with these standout performances, the scoreboard told the story as Splash Mob dominated, improving to a strong 7-2 while Heatwave found themselves grappling with a tough 0-9 record.

HEATWAVE 76, CARDS 129

The battle between the CARDS and HEATWAVE has historically tilted in favor of CARDS, and Saturday’s game was no exception, as they have now swept the heat with a perfect 3-0 record in all-time meetings. This encounter saw CARDS dominate, finishing off HEATWAVE by a staggering 53 points. Isaac Hoberecht was nothing short of phenomenal, stepping up to deliver a jaw-dropping triple-double with 39 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists; who knew he had that in him! Dmitri Lloyd and Terrell Kabala weren’t far behind, with Lloyd showcasing his all-around game and tallying a personal best in assists and steals, while Kabala put on a defensive showcase with a whopping nine steals. On the other side, Jonathan Ferrara shone for HEATWAVE, putting together a strong 26-point, 11-rebound double-double, backed by Duece Dodd's double-double of 18 points and a standout 16 rebounds. Even with some personal bests from players like Joshua Sigua and Terrell Kabala, HEATWAVE couldn't keep up with the scoring machine that was CARDS, who proved that a little friendly rivalry can lead to some serious scoreboard punishment!

CARDS 100, ISO COLD 84

What a comeback for the CARDS! After dropping the last two battles against ISO COLD, they surged back to claim a convincing 100-84 victory, making it a day to remember for their fans. Isaac Hoberecht led the charge with a staggering 44 points, including 12 three-pointers, setting new personal bests and keeping the scoreboard ticking in their favor. Dmitri Lloyd supported with a solid double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, proving he's more than just a reliable presence under the basket. On the other side, Jaden Taylor kept things interesting with 41 points and seven assists, but despite his strong performance, ISO COLD's three-game winning streak came to a halt. Prince Agbaeze also shone for ISO COLD with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and a couple of blocks, though it wasn’t enough to fend off the CARDS’ relentless offense. Josh Sigua also had a standout night, dishing out a personal-best eight assists for the CARDS, showing there’s much more to their game than just scoring. In the end, the CARDS turned this showdown into a scoring fest, reminding everyone that they’re still in the hunt!
