After an up-and-down 5-5 campaign in Season 6, the Jazz enter Season 7 with a fresh identity and a clear mission: break through the first-round wall and become a true contender. GM Kail Jeter, coming off a Second Team All-Star selection, returns to lead a reshaped roster that blends defensive dominance with emerging talent.
🔁 Re-signings
- Kalon Jeter – The versatile guard returns as a foundational piece. His leadership and ability to score in transition remain key to the Jazz system.
➕ New Additions
DeMarco Harris – The reigning Defensive Player of the Year makes his move to the Jazz, immediately raising the team’s defensive ceiling. His presence in the paint and vocal leadership will anchor this unit.
Da’Jon Avery – A tough, athletic wing with a reputation for hustle and defensive versatility. Expect him to contribute on both ends.
Dontee Wade – A solid rotational player who brings size and effort off the bench. His development could be an X-factor.
Saul Delacruz – A crafty guard with good vision and energy. Could thrive in the Jazz’s uptempo style.
➖ Departures
Saleem Ali Bey – A DPOY Finalist and emotional leader, his defensive presence will be missed.
Brian Smith – One of the most efficient scorers last season and a Second Team All-Star. His offensive production will need to be replaced by committee.
Clifton Polk – A consistent veteran contributor who brought toughness and rebounding.
Lucky Stefanos – The reigning 6th Man of the Year departs after an impactful season off the bench.
📋 Offseason Summary
The Jazz may have lost star power in Smith and Ali Bey, but their offseason was far from a setback. Landing DeMarco Harris was one of the biggest moves of the summer, giving the team a new defensive identity. With a reloaded supporting cast and GM Kail Jeter still at the helm, the Jazz are banking on chemistry, defense, and a chip-on-the-shoulder mentality to push past last season’s early exit.
Outlook: Don’t count them out. If the new pieces mesh, the Jazz could be one of the league’s surprise contenders this season.
