If last night was any indication of what is to come, than buckle up. First round of the playoffs will see the same rematches. Week 10 outcomes resulted in huge changes in standings. Clippers who could have potentially finished 2nd ended up in 4th and Duke took 3rd place. The difference: 4 points over the course of the season. Brooklyn with a major upset over the Clippers, are heating up at the right time with 3 wins in their last 4. Lakers, without their star player, Omaid, upset the Raptors who were also out with their 2 time All-star Anees Dhakli. Last night, we got to see the trade between Duke and Heat play out. From the looks of it, Duke wins this trade by a landslide. Duke looks like a team that can win it all with the addition of Abdullah Sedu and Ismail back to his All-star form. This team looks like it can make a deep run in the playoffs. The heat is the lowest seed but with the veterans on the team and Bobat at the helm, this team can hang with the best of them.
BROOOOOOOKLYN. say it again.. BROOOOOOKLYN. I am telling you, this is the team that you can’t sleep on. The one player that can either make them win or lose is “Trigger Happy - Lazy Leg” Taha. If the GM can put a leash on him, they can win any game. Hafiz Hassan Is a beast and the way this team played yesterday, a rematch with the Clippers is the match they wanted. Brooklyn beat the Clippers both time they faced them and honestly, round 1 is not gonna be any different. But let me just get this out of my system: CAN THE BALOCH’s PLEASE HIT A LAYUP. Please. There I’m done. Now to the Clippers. The clippers look hella soft. Tawab was forcing shots, Waheed was a ghost and Bhaijan looked like he was the only one that came to play but forgot how to make a free throw. New addition, Amin Mehta was shut down. Honestly, he is the key to their success and if the Clippers want any chance of advancing, they need to find him and get him hot. Since his arrival on the Clippers, he’s been shooting lights out. But clearly, the Clippers got exposed. Play some DEFENCE, and they are beatable. Shoutout to Sulaman. Had great game and he hit his first three of the season.
Moving on, The game between the Lakers and the Raptors was a statement game. Let me just put it out there, both losses to the Raptors have come to the hands of the Lakers. With Anees out with a groin injury and Khota sitting out with load management, Mohamed Sedu tried to do too much. He was forcing shots, turning the ball over and ultimately costing them the game. Gotta trust your players, bruh! But let’s give credit where credit is due. Ayman and Milod are arguably one of the best tandems in the game. With Omaid coming back in the playoffs this team in my opinion is favored to win the championship. it could easily be the Raptors versus the Lakers finale but then again anything can happen.
So this is it. Teamwork, defense, circus shots, buzzer beaters, Mobeen Popal, recent trades and moves, which team is heating up at the best time.? I personally feel going into the playoffs with a win carries huge momentum. Raptors and Lakers get first round byes. Will that benefit them or hurt them? We will soon find out. Will the Heat heat up at the right time and upset Duke? Will Brooklyn be the Bulls of last season and make an unprecedented run or will Duke led by Azamath and Safwaan Patel be the team that threatens the top 2 seeds. Let the playoffs begin.
