Draft analysis and player ranking
Hello League,
As another season of the LOL league is getting ready to start, please have a read of draft analysis and player rankings. Please note, Kamal was left off the rankings as he would top most of them. The goal of this is not to offend but to provide entertainment as well as inspire good play.
Team Kal
Team Kal kicked off the draft by taking Abee number 1. Abee is considered a premiere outside shooter and good over all ball player. The team looked to draft hardworking and disciplined players as they followed that pick with schaefiq, and Ammar to make up the core of the team. The team is expected to be good on defense and rebounding. They seem content to play ball without a point guard to facilitate on offense and Kal and Abee are expected to carry a heavy load on offense.
Team Dave
Dave took first year player Ali T and followed it up with Frank and Nader. This team is filled with players who play hard on defense and are expected to also be a very good rebounding team. However, with a lack of 3 pt shooters on the team, the paint may become very crowded making it hard for players like Ali T to get to the rim.
Team Fujo
Fujo started the draft taking Mo Meri in the first whose expected to provide a low post presence for them on offense. They then followed up with Taking Mo Malahi a very disruptive offensive player and Mousa Eljahmi to make up the core of the team. The offense is expected to feature a heavy dose of Fujo and Mo Meri as they are deemed complimentary players and they both have premiere pg Farris Alsakkaf to help lead that offense. They also have another good 3 pt shooter in JJ.
Team Billy
Team Billy drafted Sunny and Munair in the first and second rounds. Both are coming off a very good seasons. They also landed Hussein whose is one of the better 3 pt shooters in the league. The team seems to be filled with talent across the board and many are waiting to see if they will all click together. If they do, they are deemed to be one of the top teams in the league.
Team Mutee
Mutee decided to draft a premiere defender in Beedy in the first and drafted Tmac known for his length, shooting, and rebounding in the 2nd. This team has potential, but they are not without their limitations. The talent is their and they are expected to have Fud by midseason to help lead the offense. They may end up struggling on defense and rebounding as they lack some size when compared to other teams. However, they do have quite a few offensive weapons to use.
Team Nabil
Nabil coming off his best season after leading the league in scoring is looking to capitalize on that and went with a big man in Maher. Maher is expected to be a heavy part of this offense as he looks to establish himself as a down low presence to pair with his elite 3 pt shooting. He also took one of the better overall and well-rounded players in the league in Mo Z in the 2nd round. He finished the draft by taking one of the most improved and highly sought out players in the draft. None other than Mr. Screen himself Radwan Elhaj. The team is expected to play through their captain while feeding the ball down low with Maher and Mo Z also playing off the ball.
Team Suffi
In a shocker, Mo Suffi opted to not keep his team from last year. He took Adel in the first whose known as a good defensive presence and good rebounder in the first and followed it up with one of the breakout stars from last year and his previous teammate in Usaf. Both Mo and Usaf are expected to carry most of the load in scoring. However, the team potentially left itself very vulnerable without any big man to cover other teams centers. Suffi is expected to try and fill this role. Many are questioning this draft. But when thing learned over the last 2 seasons, it is that don’t ever count Mo out of the championship run.
Team Kamal
A unique situation in the sense his team was basically drafted for him pre-draft, Kamal with his one pick drafted Fadi who is considered one of the hardest people to defend in the league. Between the 2 of them, they make the best 2-man punch in the league. They also have Khalid Aidioruous and formidable post presence, a very high iq basketball player in Nasser and a good 3 pt shooter in Mansour. With Kamal at the helm, the offense is expected to be fine, but the team may need to figure something out on defense.
