CRSD LOL BASKETBALL LEAGUE

OFFICIAL LEAGUE RULES & POLICIES

TEAM ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

Each team must have matching colored jerseys provided by the organizers and a unique jersey number to participate. The players are required to wear their jerseys for all games. In the event a player is missing their jersey, a technical foul will be given to the player and two free-throws will be awarded to the opposing team. This technical foul does not count as a personal foul.

TEAM CAPTAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

It is each captains’ responsibility to know the league rules & regulations and pass that information on to team members.

Must also have all team members sign waiver form for access to the gym.

Captains must notify team members of any schedule changes.

Captains must check the communication group chat and contribute to the planning process of the league.

Captains must ensure that their teammates are NOT shooting around during a game.

Attend any meetings to discuss league matters.

TEAM ROSTER INFORMATION

A team may draft a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 8 players on their roster. Teams may not add any players after the draft is complete.

Players that drop from the league due to dissatisfaction with their team or league, will be ineligible for future leagues. Legitimate reasons will be taken into consideration on a case by case basis by the commissioner.

League Fees are NON REFUNDABLE

UNIFORMS/JERSEYS

The organizers will provide jerseys to the teams upon successful registration in the league.
All team members must have matching colored jerseys with numbers on back.

Each team member must have a unique jersey number. In the event that two players who end up on the same team have the same number from leagues prior, one of the players must purchase a new jersey. All expenses are the responsibility of the players. One of the players may also choose to alter their number with tape or marker.

GAME MODIFICATIONS

There will be two 22-minute periods of continuous running clock.

Each player is guaranteed a minimum of 20 minutes per game. Captains will be disciplined with a suspension if the players complain of playing time less than 20 minutes.

The clock will only stop during the last two minutes of the second half of play when a time-out is called, on all violations, fouls, for a made basket, and at the referees’ discretion.

There will be a 30 second shot clock under 2 minutes if possible.

Half time will be three (3) minutes. The second half may start prior to the expiration of three (3) minutes if both teams and the referees are ready for play.

Teams will have three (3) time-outs per game, lasting approximately 45 seconds. Teams will receive a time-out per overtime period, no timeouts from regular gameplay will carry over to over time.

A team must start the game with four (4) players but may not continue with less than three (3) players on the court.

Scoring errors must be brought to the officials’ attention immediately in order to correct. Once the referees have left the court, scoring errors may not be corrected.

If the team has 7 team fouls, the player fouled will get a bonus, or what is called a "one-and- one” – that is, if the player makes the first free throw, he gets the opportunity to attempt a second, but if he misses, the ball is live.

If the team has 10 team fouls in the game, the player fouled gets a double bonus – two free throws following the 10th and above fouls.

A technical foul will add towards personal fouls for purposes of fouling out of the game

OVERTIME PROCEDURES

The overtime period will start with a jump ball at center court.

During regular season, ONE overtime will be awarded. A single overtime is 2 minutes in length and stoppage time is only the last minute of the overtime.

If the score remains a tie after the overtime period; the game will end in a draw and be recorded as such.

During the Playoffs, subsequent overtimes will be played in the same manner with a one minute break between each additional overtime period until the game is set.

Overtimes during the playoffs are 2 minutes in length and stoppage time is only the last minute of the overtime.

Teams will receive a time-out per overtime period, no timeouts from regular gameplay will carry over to overtime.

All fouls carry over into the overtime periods.

FORFEITS

The CRSD LOL Basketball League is not responsible for teams that forfeit, and will not reschedule forfeited games.

Teams must start the game at the scheduled game time with at least four players on the court.

If a team is not ready to start the game with at least four players signed in and on the court at the scheduled game time, the team that is ready will receive 10 points, possession of the ball and the game clock will be started. When ten (10) minutes have run off of the game clock and a team does not have the minimum number of players to compete the game will be declared a forfeit win for the team with the minimum number of players.

If neither team is prepared to start the game with four players at the scheduled game time the clock will start. The game will resume in the normal manner starting with a jump ball when both teams have the minimum number of players required to play.

A double forfeit will be declared if both teams are not ready to play after the expiration of ten (10) minutes.

A forfeited game will be scored 10-0 for point differential purposes.

Teams that forfeit twice during the regular season are ineligible to participate in the post-season.

LEAGUE RULES

During free throw situations, players may enter the zone on the release by the shooter. Shooters may enter the zone after the ball contacts the rim.

Substitutions will only be allowed on dead ball situations. The substitute must report to the scorers’ table and may only enter the court when called by the referees.

Players must stay on their sideline at all times during game play.

For the safety of all participants, players must remove all jewelry prior to the start of the game including wedding bands, religious symbols, and wrist watches.

Half-court violations WILL be implemented.

Cussing, Profanity, and Foul Language are strictly prohibited. A player will be awarded with a technical foul upon committing such acts. The technical foul will be regarded as a personal foul and added to the team’s overall number of fouls in the game.

Fighting is also strictly prohibited. Any sort of fighting ON or OFF the court will lead to an immediate expulsion from the league.

The League Organizers will make the final calls in all disputes.

After 3 technicals (i.e due to cursing, talking back to officials or shooting around during a game) a player is suspended the next game. Captains and the league commissioner will be responsible for recording such technicals.

League organizers will evaluate player misconduct/behavior on school premises.

Captains will be held to higher standards and as a result after 2 actions will be suspended for one game.

Flagrant fouls will count as technical.

Two technicals in one game is an automatic ejection.

After the one game suspension the player’s disciplinary technicals will reset.

If a player has a suspension for the first playoff game due to season techs, it will be a half game for that first playoff game.

Two technicals in playoffs will result in a player suspension.

There is no shooting around on the sidelines allowed during games, after one verbal warning, the offending player will be punished with a technical. This will be recorded by the league commissioner.

At the end of the last game anyone still in the gym will be given a verbal warning to leave within 10 minutes, anyone still in the gym after the 10 minute warning period will be issued a technical.

STATISTICS

Statistics will be compiled weekly. Statistics for current games will be available by game time the following week.
Statistics are for recreational purposes only; the league is not responsible for inaccurate statistics.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION

Only the team captain can address problems and/or questions that occur.

The League Organizers will make the final calls in all disputes and interpretations of League Rule
