Black Panther Rolls To Second Win, Gives Defending Champs Its First Loss Since Last Season

January 27, 2020

Manila, Philippines

The Black Panther is a new old team, with players coming form different teams that participated last season of the Cross Over League. The team was built to at least compete at a high level. What way to affirm that competency by routing the defending champs, and dealing the latter its first loss since last season when it won the crown without any loss. The Panthers won the game convincingly, 73-52.

Atoy TripleV started the game quick, getting 12 points while limiting the Panthers to just three points in the first five minutes. The Panthers zoomed for a time out and when they went back on the floor they were a different beast. They came back in style, a 16-0 run that booked them the lead after the first period, 19-12.

In the second quarter, the Panthers relied on Earl John Maglunob’s charge who scored ten points in that period and led the team to edge the Atoy TripleV with 15 points.

The third quarter didn’t see enough headway for the Atoy TripleV as they managed to only exchange baskets with the Panthers and the lead of the latter remained at double digits, 54-40. The defending champs were not able to recover in the game as they missed the service of the Season 4 MVP Jason Red Villgracia who arrived in the game late. The game ended with the Black Panther enjoying its second straight win with both games ending with them leading with a big margin. The Atoy TripleV suffered its first loss since last season.

The Black Panther will take on another undefeated team next week, EM Arki Team while the Atoy TripleV will play the Asteu Supervisors.
