Railroad Gets First Win To Hold Off Hotwheels Ballers Charge

Railroad and Hotwheels Ballers engaged in the first game of the day and engaged in a competitive game. The former went on and had a lead of double digits but the Ballers didn’t let up and fought back late in the game. The come back made by the Hotwheels Ballers was not enough though as the Railroad team won the game, 70-63.

The two teams played tight in the first quarter, with Richard Merose scoring eight points for the Ballers and Vasquez leading the Railroad with six points. The quarter ended 19-18 in favor of the Hotwheels Ballers.

At the second period, the Railroad team was led by both Pals and Salubre who combined for 19 points of the 23 the team scored that canto, with Salubre dropping four treys. Railroad overtook the lead 41-34 at the half.

It was a different contributor for the Railroad team in Carlos Antonio who chipped in eight points in the third period as they upped the lead to double digits. The Ballers had difficulty in scoring in that quarter.

During the fourth period, the Hotwheels Ballers decided to fight back and was able to trim the lead down to a single possession lead, 62-59 at the 1:58 mark of the fourth period when the Railroad tighten the defense on the other end and led to multiple turnovers for the Hotwheels Ballers and some point blank misses that eventually allowed them to win the ball game.

The Hotwheels Ballers will take a rest next Sunday while Railroad will battle one of the Final Four teams last season, the Batang MDC.
