This week in the Come Play Detroit Men's Draft Basketball League was electric, with no shortage of incredible performances and high-octane action! Let’s dive into the thrilling matchups that had fans on the edge of their seats!
The Rocket showcased their offensive firepower against Gatorade, taking the game 78-67. Karim Murray left everything on the court for Gatorade, scoring an astounding 37 points, along with 14 rebounds! His teammates contributed with solid efforts, including Marlon Tabb’s 14 points. However, the Rocket countered with a balanced attack, with Many leading the way with 17 points, while Michael Campbell added 16 points to help secure the win!
In another exciting duel, Play 4 A Cause emerged victorious against Hutch Paving with a score of 63-52. Alex Phillips was the star of the show, pouring in 21 points and grabbing 14 rebounds! His efforts were complemented by Trent Baar, who chipped in 11 points. On the Hutch side, Colton Oedy shone with 19 points, but it just wasn’t enough to overcome Play 4 A Cause's momentum.
Catching the excitement, Come Play Detroit narrowly defeated LitFinancial 53-46. Sam Schmit was the key player for Come Play Detroit, lighting it up with 21 points, while Mitch Kramer added a notable 14 points. LitFinancial's Nate Talbot fought hard, droping 15 points and dominating the boards with 17 rebounds, but it wasn’t able to close the gap.
Huron Gastro continued their dominance by defeating Goldstein Dental 74-60. Dylan Bressler stunned everyone with a spectacular 24-point performance! His teammates Nik Heglin and Eric Matecun also had their moments with 9 and 11 points respectively. Goldstein’s Bryan Jones tried to keep his team competitive, notching 18 points, but it was Huron Gastro's night!
The battle between Detroit Build and Muscle Milk was intense, with Detroit Build emerging victorious 71-66. Sean Bednarsh put on a show with 22 points, while Demarcus Wingate added 15 points to bolster Detroit’s offense. Despite Nayquawan Smith Davis roaring back for Muscle Milk with a staggering 27 points, Detroit Build’s grit secured the win!
SurgicalOne put on a clinic against Athletico, winning decisively 77-35. Taylor Robson was a force to be reckoned with, lighting up the scoreboard for 28 points! Devyn Smith joined the party with 19 points and 7 assists, leading his team to a resounding win. Athletico's Tommy Cotter tried to rally with 14 points, but it was a tough night in this one-sided affair.
The Stride/S.I.G. crew dominated over Handlebar Pub, taking the game 97-77. Bennie Szczepkowski was on fire, scoring 32 points and displaying phenomenal accuracy. Elijah Sterin and Philip B Porter also contributed significantly, adding 21 and 18 points respectively. Handlebar Pub’s Eric Tsay kept the game competitive with a spirited 22-point performance, but their efforts fell short against Stride/S.I.G.'s depth.
Finally, Jordan Buchanan Real Estate celebrated a commanding 84-54 victory against Wallside Windows. Seth Ochoa took control of the court, racking up 25 points and showcasing his skills! Jordan Buchanan and Cody Potter supported this with 18 points each, proving too much for Wallside. Eli Wasserman kept Wallside in the game with 16 points, but it wasn’t enough to sway the outcome.
What a week for the Come Play Detroit league! With every game filled with fierce competition and sparks flying, players left it all on the court. Basketball doesn’t get more thrilling than this! See you next week for more exciting action!
