Jace Easley scored 28 points, and grabbed a career-high 22 rebounds and Our Savior's scored 16 points at the free-throw line to hold off Jacksonville, 87-83 on Tuesday night to go 2-0 to start LSA CIL play.

The Eagles (7-2, 2-0) converted 16 of 21 at the line (76%) and pulled down 52 rebounds, 33 off the defensive class and 19 by Easley.

Despite being out-rebounded by 29 boards, Jacksonville managed to claw its way out of a 15-point deficit with just under 7 minutes left.

Michael Wilson, the leading scorer in the state coming into the game, went on a personal 12-0 run to get Jacksonville within three, 74-71 with 1:33 left, but Conor McCaffrey buried a 3 and knocked down two from the line. Our Savior's hit 10 of 12 from the line in the final 62 seconds to close out the victory.

McCaffrey finished with 20 points, hitting 4 of 7 from beyond the arc and 2-2 at the line, to lead Springfield, Dejaynes helped with 16 points, Easley scored 18 of his 28 in the first half.

Wilson, who missed the conference opener at No.2 Auburn after injuring his ankle in a win last week, finished with 19 points and three steals but struggled from the line, hitting 4 of 7 shots. Nolan Killion had 18 points.

After back-to-back losses to No.2 Auburn and Springfield Our Savior's, Jacksonville finds itself 7-2 heading into their next game with South County.

Our Savior's plays host to No.11 Metamora on Sunday.
