Welcome to the 2022 Buckeye Bowl High School Hockey Tournament! The following is some information for participants and spectators.
Admission:
Tournament Pass = $5.00
18 & under = free
50/50 draws:
Tickets sold at each game - 1 ticket $2 / 3 tickets $5 / arm length $10
2 draws (after Thursday night's game & at the Final on Saturday)
Each 50/50 tickets also gives you a chance to win two tickets to the Mar. 25 Jets vs. Blue Jackets game (the retrun of Laine)
Harvest Manitoba Drive:
Bring a tin for the bin (or other "non-perishable") and be entered in a draw to win tickets to an upcoming Jets game.
Each donation also gives you a chance to win two tickets to the Mar. 27 Jets vs. Coyotes game
Player of the Game Awards / Tournament All-Star Team and MVP
A player of the game for each team will be selected every game. POGs will receive a prize package (BP small pizza, 1 roll stick tape, 1 roll sock tape, skate sharpening, and a 6 pack of energy bars.)
Each POG will be entered into a draw to win a Winnipeg Jets jersey at the end of the tournament
The tournament committee will also select a tournament all-star team (1 goalie, two defencemen, three forwards) and a tournament MVP will be selected and awarded a trophy.
Format:
Each team will play one another in a four game round robin. At the conclusion of round robin play, the top two ranked teams will advance to the championship gold match. The third and fourth ranked teams will advance to the bronze match. There will be no overtime in round robin play. In the Final and bronze matches, regular season WHSHL rules will apply (a 5 minute 3v3 followed by a 3 player shootout).
In the round robin the following points formula will be used:
• Win = 2 points
• Tie = 1 point
• Loss = 0 points
The champion will receive the Buckeye Bowl trophy. Runner up and Bronze winners will also receive a team trophy.
