Welcome to participants and supporters of the eight teams vying to become Buckeye Bowl Champions for 2024!

This year's tournament features the return of our 2022 champion from south Winnipeg, the JH Bruns Broncos. They will join their neighbourhood rival the Léo-Rémillard Renards, Sanford Sabres, and Powerview-Sagkeeng Wild in the Miles Pool.

Your hosts, the Buckeyes, will look to advance to their first Buckeye Bowl final in the Mac pool with a fellow WFP Division rival in the Kelvin Clippers as well as Zone 4 representative the Morris Mavericks. Rounding out the pool are first time participant, the Churchill Bulldogs.

We wish the best of luck to all teams!

FORMAT

Each team will play three games in pool play. The final standings in pool play will determine the matchups for the Buckeye Bowl (Miles 1 v Mac 1), bronze (Miles 2 v Mac 2), and consolation (Miles 3 v Mac 3) championship games.

In the round robin the following points formula will be used:

Win = 2 points
Overtime Win (OTW) or Shootout Win (SOW) = 2 points
Overtime Loss (OTL) or Shootout Loss (SOL) = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

Except for the items noted below, we will use WHSHL rules and will abide by the constitution in determining supplementary discipline in the case of on ice or off ice infractions offences.

Exceptions

Regular season WHSHL overtime rules will apply in all games, including championship games. This is a five-minute period of 3v3 followed by a three round shootout if necessary.

The following tiebreakers will be used in the event of a tie in points between two teams in the standings:

• Head-to-head matchup (the winner of the round robin game would advance)

The following tiebreakers will be used in the event of a tie in points between three or more teams in the standings. If a team is eliminated on the first tiebreaker, they are not eligible in the second tiebreaker (and so on):

• Most regulation wins between the tied teams.
• Most total wins (regulation plus OT and SO) between the tied teams.
• Best goal differential (goals for minus goals against in all round robin games)
• Coin flip
