The league commenced its 8th consecutive season Monday in the midst of a global pandemic. Despite the strange state of the world in 2020, the Warriors seemed untarnished, particularly the classic dynamic duo of Brandon Colon and Rob Burns. The two BGBL all-stars combined for 40 of the team's 54 points, while Brandon also tallied 15 boards and Burns had a near-perfect performance at the free throw line. Entering their fourth season in the league together, the duo appears determined to steal a title from the defending champion Nuggets, who have proved to be their cryptonite thus far. Overall, Golden State looked relatively formidable in the opener against the Janeski-led Lakers. Role players stepped up as well, as Phil Lewis finished third in scoring on the team with six points, the big man 'Booze Cruise' added 9 boards. Joe Nelsen also delivered from downtown. "Where was that last year?" asked veteran referee Andrew Owers, Nelsen's former teammate in 2019. Brandon "Milk" Stevens had a surprisingly quiet debut after turning nearly ever head at the combine. 'Milk' still has yet to hit the first field goal of his career. The scary thing is the Warriors seemed to not need him. If Milk can get going to his full potential, this Warriors team will be tough to beat.

After trading his 1st round pick away to the already dominant Warriors for 3rd and 4th rounders, Lakers GM Christian Janeski quickly became the most hated player in the league. However, if there's one positive the Lakers can walk away with from this loss, it's Janeski. The man proved the critics wrong, hitting 2 three-pointers, and breaking his career high in scoring with 8 points. Additionally, the trade that he was so severely criticized for ended up not looking that bad. The rookie Cam Costello that Janeski used the 4th rounder on is an early front runner for Rookie of the Year. Costello dropped 13 points, with 9 of them coming from behind the arc. Janeski had also used the 3rd rounder that he received in the trade on proven veteran Trevor Gilson, who some analysts expected to be taken in the 1st round. The Lakers have a long season ahead of them, but the team that most expected to be the laughing stock of the league might just end up becoming a contender.
