Commish here...
I could have taken the time to give my in-depth analysis on what we've seen so far this season but let's be honest, nobody wants to hear what Commish has to say. That being said, I input all the league information (Player stats, game outcomes, and league schedule), into ChatGPT and I must say I like the results.
Beofre the anti-AI group of humans jump in with their hot takes, I just want to say I did submit my own write up and then asked it to compare my analysis to the statistics.
Without further ado, AllPlay Athletics first three weeks breakdown is here.
ALLPLAY PRO-AM: THREE WEEKS IN — CONTENDERS, SURPRISES, AND MVP FRONTRUNNERS
Three weeks into the AllPlay Pro-Am season, the picture is beginning to take shape. While several teams have established themselves as championship contenders, others are still searching for consistency as the league enters a pivotal Week 4 slate.
With 24 teams split across the IFS Basketball and Hustle Hoops conferences, parity has been a theme throughout the early season. Yet a handful of teams and players have separated themselves from the pack.
Undefeated Teams Setting the Pace
Three teams remain unbeaten entering Week 4:
Wizards (3-0)
The Wizards have been the league’s most explosive offensive team, averaging 80.7 points per game while posting a +41 point differential. Led by scoring machine Tysheen Lott, the Wizards have overwhelmed opponents with pace, shot-making, and depth. Through three weeks, they look every bit like a championship favorite.
Thunder (3-0)
While the Wizards dominate with offense, the Thunder have built their success on defense. Allowing just 54.7 points per game, they own one of the league’s stingiest defensive units. Jarmani Cooper has emerged as one of the league’s premier scorers while the Thunder continue to find ways to win in different styles.
Nuggets (3-0)
No team has been more efficient than the Nuggets. Their league-best +45 point differential highlights a balanced roster capable of controlling both ends of the floor. They may not receive as much attention as the Wizards or Thunder, but their performance through three weeks demands respect.
The Contender Tier
Behind the undefeated trio sits a group of teams capable of making a championship run.
The Nets have developed into one of the league’s most dangerous offensive teams thanks to the scoring duo of Xzavion Nix and Andy Strug. Their ability to generate points in bunches makes them a threat against any opponent.
The Kings remain one of the league’s most talented teams despite a 2-1 record. Malikye Ridgeway’s scoring ability gives them a legitimate superstar capable of taking over games.
The Magic and Mavericks have quietly built impressive starts and continue climbing the standings with balanced team play and consistent production from their core players.
Meanwhile, the Spurs continue to prove they belong in the conversation. Their offense ranks among the league’s best, and much of that success can be attributed to one player.
Sean Weisansal’s MVP Push
Few players have impacted games more than Sean Weisansal.
Through three weeks, the Spurs star is averaging:
• 24.7 points per game
• 12.3 rebounds per game
• 4.3 assists per game
• 2.0 steals per game
His combination of scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and defensive activity has made him one of the league’s most complete players. While MVP races are often driven by scoring, Weisansal has built his case through all-around dominance.
If the Spurs continue winning, expect his name to remain firmly in the MVP conversation.
Roy Wallace: The Ultimate Difference Maker
While most MVP candidates dominate the scoring column, Roy Wallace has made his presence felt everywhere else.
The Rockets big man is averaging:
• 16.0 points per game
• 17.5 rebounds per game
• 5.5 assists per game
• 2.0 blocks per game
Wallace has become one of the league’s premier interior forces, controlling possessions through rebounding while anchoring the Rockets’ defense. His impact often extends beyond the box score and has helped position Houston as one of the most dangerous teams in the middle of the standings.
If the Rockets continue climbing, Wallace could quickly move into serious MVP consideration.
MVP Ladder Through Three Weeks
1. Tysheen Lott (Wizards)
The league’s leading scorer at 30.7 points per game and the offensive engine behind an undefeated team.
2. Malikye Ridgeway (Kings)
Averaging 30.0 points per game while carrying one of the league’s most talented rosters.
3. Sean Weisansal (Spurs)
Perhaps the league’s most complete player through three weeks.
4. Nate Hoellig (Clippers)
Averaging 27.0 points per game and keeping the Clippers competitive despite a losing record.
5. Roy Wallace (Rockets)
The league’s premier rebounder and one of its most impactful two-way players.
Biggest Surprise
The Clippers sit at just 1-2, but their league-leading 82.3 points per game suggest they may be far better than their record indicates. If they can improve defensively, they could become one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
Team to Watch
The Rockets.
At 1-1, the Rockets record does not fully reflect its potential. With Roy Wallace controlling the paint and a roster capable of improving rapidly, the Rockets appear poised to climb the standings over the coming weeks.
Looking Ahead
Week 4 brings several critical matchups that could reshape the standings. The Nets and Magic square off in what may be the game of the week, while the Rockets look to make a statement against the Knicks. The Spurs will attempt to continue their ascent behind Sean Weisansal, and the undefeated Wizards, Thunder, and Nuggets all put their perfect records on the line.
Three weeks are in the books. The contenders are emerging, the MVP race is heating up, and the road to the AllPlay Pro-Am championship is just getting started.
