CFL WEEK 5 PREVIEW – JUNE 6, 2026
The CFL enters Week 5 with a crowded race at the top. Pluto sits atop the standings at 3-1 and owns the league's best defensive numbers, but they'll face two quality opponents. The Caliphs and Warriors square off in what feels like a playoff game in June, while the Niners continue trying to prove they're more than a .500 team despite leading the league in scoring. Meanwhile, Mamas Boys look to build momentum after their explosive doubleheader performance two weeks ago before an unfortunate forfeit (not cool), and the Hunters are still searching for their first victory.
Eight games are on tap Saturday, with several teams pulling double duty. Bring your water, bring your towels, and maybe bring a backup hamstring.
FIELD 1
9:00 AM – All Day vs. Niners: The Niners continue to be the league's offensive fireworks show, averaging nearly 40 points per game. All Day has quietly been one of the most balanced teams in the CFL, sporting a +24 differential despite playing one fewer game than most contenders. Expect a fast-paced contest with plenty of scoring opportunities, but the Niners' offensive depth, with Mo appearing to be in midseason form, gives them the edge late. All Day is battling injuries and attendance issues, so we'll see what gives.

10:00 AM – All Day vs. Interceptors: This is a difficult turnaround game for both teams. All Day's disciplined offense and ability to control possessions should be the difference. The Interceptors can score despite the inconsistent play of Brian their QB, but All Day's defense has quietly been among the league's best through the first month of the season. All Day's youth and athleticism may prove too much for the veteran Interceptors playing their second game of the morning. The X-factor is Anas.

11:00 AM – Imaan vs. Mamas Boys: Mamas Boys finally showed what they're capable of two weeks ago, posting 79 points across a doubleheader behind a 12-touchdown day from Mustafa Mozawalla, the CFL Player of the Week. Imaan's defense has struggled against quality passing attacks, and Mamas Boys appear to be finding their rhythm after an uneven start. On paper, this should be one-sided. The big question is whether QB Asif can hang with a former Division I quarterback for four quarters.
Prediction: Mamas Boys 36, Imaan 21
12:00 PM – Mean Machine vs. Imaan: Mean Machine's record doesn't tell the whole story. They lead the league in points scored and seem to be involved in a shootout every single week. Imaan will have opportunities offensively, but keeping pace with Mean Machine's weapons is another matter entirely. Expect a high-scoring battle. The X-factor is Isa, who needs a breakout performance.

9:00 AM – Hunters vs. Interceptors: The Hunters have shown flashes offensively but have been unable to slow anyone down, surrendering nearly 40 points per game. The Interceptors have been inconsistent but are coming off a victory and possess enough playmakers to capitalize on Hunter mistakes. This will be a pivotal week for Adam and company. Can they build momentum before the postseason push begins? One thing is for sure, Taylor looks great while Fahad still looking for some consistency this season.
Prediction: Interceptors 33, Hunters 20
10:00 AM – Caliphs vs. Warriors: This is the marquee matchup of the day. Both teams enter at 3-1 with explosive offenses separated by just four total points scored. The Warriors have been one of the most efficient teams in the league, while the Caliphs have repeatedly shown they can win shootouts. Focus on Samad and Gregg, two personalities who bring energy and confidence to their squads every week. So far, Samad has backed up the talk. Also look for Louis to make a major impact.
Prediction: Warriors 32, Caliphs 30
11:00 AM – Pluto vs. Warriors: If the Warriors survive the Caliphs game, they'll immediately face perhaps the toughest defense in the CFL. Pluto doesn't put up the gaudy offensive numbers of some contenders, but their +26 differential is no accident. Their ability to limit big plays could slow down the Warriors just enough in a physical battle. The Shak vs. Ezra banter alone is worth the price of admission.
Fun Fact: Shak was once on the Warriors roster and reportedly refused to attend unless he was the starting quarterback. Ezra's response? "This is my effing huddle."

12:00 PM – Pluto vs. MPS: This matchup features two teams trending upward. MPS has quietly won two straight and owns one of the better defenses in the league. Pluto's championship-caliber defense gives them a slight advantage, but this has upset potential if MPS can force turnovers and keep it close late. Toheed and Ammad should put on a show. The X-factor is young MPS quarterback Josh. Can he connect on the deep ball against one of the CFL's toughest defenses?

WEEK 5 POWER PREDICTION
By the end of Saturday, Pluto has a chance to emerge as the CFL's clear No. 1 team if they can survive a difficult doubleheader. The Warriors face the toughest schedule of any team this week with back-to-back games against the Caliphs and Pluto. Mamas Boys are the dark horse to watch. If their offensive explosion from two weeks ago was a sign of things to come, they could quickly climb from the middle of the standings into the contender conversation.
Meanwhile, the Niners and Mean Machine remain the CFL's most entertaining teams—because whenever they take the field, defense is usually optional.
