I want to thank you all for your continued interest in being a part of our basketball community for the last 8 years. After leaving Nativity for one season we are returning to Burke and shrinking back the size of our operation. We will focus back on providing a fun, organized and alternative league play style to what you get from your normal rec leagues. As with every season, we try to learn, adapt and implement new changes that I believe will benefit all players and this season will be no different.

Season IX will feature five (5) teams, with eight (8) players on each team. Everyone will play 8 regular season games with the top four seeds advancing to semifinals on May 31st and a Championship game on June 7th, 2023. Any Hoop District or APR jersey from a previous season will be accepted this season, shorts are up to you. Makeup games will be done on Mondays if necessary. Nativity will continue to serve as an open gym for Monday nights until the gym closes for the summer in June.

The most important part... due to the reduction in teams we have eliminated 24 spots from last season. Registration is first come, first serve, first pay. I will not be holding spots, I will not be extending any IOU courtesies.

How does this effect you?

Every player that registers will be asked to identify players that you would like to play with. The five captains and a couple additional long time Nativity players will assist me in breaking out the teams into competitively equal squads and each captain will choose their team based on the draft lottery, i.e. 1st pick gets 1st choice of team to captain. There will still be a trade deadline midway through the season, all other rules remain in place including our Elam ending which will have a few tweaks to eliminate some flaws that were highlighted in the playoffs.

I'lm letting everyone in the league know now that the only rescheduling of games will be due to facility issues. With teams of eight there will be no substitutions during the regular season unless your team only has four (4) available players. The sub may be a player from any team who was drafted one round lower than your highest missing player. Absolutely no subs in the playoffs for any reason. If a team cannot field 5 players in the playoffs they may select one of the other four captains to be their fifth player.

DUES: $120 payable by Zelle or Cash. If you use the registration portal and pay by Credit Card the total is $125 (processing fee)

A percentage of proceeds from this season will be given to Nativity School at the end of the season in appreciation to their hosting us for the last 8 years. If you would like to add an extra donation as part of your dues I will pay that forward.

Game starts at 8:10 and 9:15PM at Nativity on Wednesday nights starting March 22nd and ending June 7th.
1st Quarter = 12 minutes running clock, 5th team foul equals 2 shots (resets)
2nd Quarter = 12 minutes running clock, 5th team foul equals 2 shots (resets)
3rd Quarter = 12 minutes running clock, 5th team foul equals 2 shots (resets)
4th Quarter = ELAM ENDING = + 24 points to leading score after 3rd Quarter, 5th team foul equals 2 shots

TIMEOUTS: 1st Half = 2x 1 min timeouts (1 carryover), 2nd Half = 2x 1 min timeouts

CAPTAIN RULE: Captains must play the first 6 min of quarters 1-2-3. Captain rule does not apply to the 4th quarter. If Captain is not on the floor during Captain time the team in violation will be assessed a technical foul and two free throws.
