If you had told Jace Easley that he would be soaring high to steal an inbounds pass at midcourt with 8 seconds left in the 4th quarter of the game vs Christ Lutheran, he would have told you that you were crazy.

With the Eagles trailing 76-74, Easley jumped up and stole the inbounds pass by Joe Lamberti and slashed through 2 different defenders, cutting to the rim and finishing a tough layup over Lathan Sommerville, who fouled Easley on the play and put him on the line with 2.2 seconds left.

Easley sunk the free throw, giving the Eagles a 77-76 lead, Christ without timeouts threw the ball downcourt, but it was tipped by Jeremiah Perkins and the time ran off the clock.

The rest of the Eagles bench stormed the center court as Jace Easley went over and gave a huge hug to his coaches, Phillip Heppe, Bryce Thompson and Brian Mercier.

Conor McCaffrey sprinted and disappeared off into the stands, hugging West Lincoln Broadwell point guard Kloe Froebe, both of whom are longtime friends with each other.

"We've known each other for what feels like forever," McCaffrey said after the game. "We both know what it takes to win games like this and we just want to see each other succeed."

Lathan Sommerville had 28 points and eight rebounds, but Christ Lutheran came up just short after having a massive rally.

Nazail Jackson had 16 points for the Comets, who lost their clinch of a conference championship and gave it up to Our Savior's for the first time in 17 years. This was Our Savior's first conference championship ever.
