Captain Griffin Francis knew what he wanted in the PPA draft, and got it. He was able to successfully fill out his team carefully considering what holes(pause) to fill. He had this to say, “The choice to take Rob Lyons third overall was bold, but I loved the pick. To have a Marcus Smart type guy is always a huge help. We got guys who can score and big men in the paint. I think we are poised for a great season.”(Lester) Lyons is capable of being 1st team all Defense while being able to guard the 1-5. Sullivan has range and with his background in football, he is able to run the pg position.
With a league dominated by bigs, picking up former Bull Ned Reynolds and Nick Gribbins were huge signings. Reynolds controls the posts effectively yet still dominates on the glass. Former JV center Nick Gribbins is also a great post player, while he is able to space the floor with the mid-range efficiently. The third overall pick Rob Lyons had this to say about the competition and how they match up; “Look around at our squad we got 5 guys who not only can put the clamps on the defensive side but also give buckets to anybody in the league. You look around this league and see a lot of big softies like Zach Sparkman, Nick Braganca, and Pierce Heim. They may look big but let me tell you what the Bulls have that they don’t, grit. The Bulls are coming in with a different level of heart and passion for the PPA and will bring physicality and toughness every week.” The Bulls seem to have an edge this year that will surprise the competition with trash talk that will certainly get opponents going.
Reports say Bulls players disagree with power rankings including guard Andre Sullivan. “Keep that same energy” Simple quote, yet effective as only time will tell on a team that could make a finals run.
