TEAM ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
League fee and jersey fee is due the before the team’s first game. A player who does not pay is
ineligible and cannot play.
Each team must have matching colored jerseys provided by the organizers and a unique jersey
number to participate. The players are required to wear their jerseys for all games. In the event
a player is missing their jersey, a technical foul will be given to the player and two free-throws
will be awarded to the opposing team. This technical foul does not count as a personal
foul nor towards a disciplinary technical.
TEAM CAPTAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive league rules & regulations, building policies, announcement, etc. and ensure that
all team members are made aware.
Collect all player fees BEFORE the first game of the season and have each player sign the waiver form. NO PLAYER IS ALLOWED TO PLAY BEFORE PAYING ENTIRE LEAGUE FEE.
Captains are the only players allowed to discuss or dispute calls to the officials.
Captains are responsible for the sportsmanship of all team members.
Captains must be actively engaged in the organizing, implementing and planning process of the League, including group chat discussions, stat taking, and enforcing league rules.
All captains must supervise open rec for Dearborn Public School students on their assigned Thursday. Failure to do so will result in a full game suspension the Friday of that same week.
TEAM ROSTER INFORMATION
A team may have a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 8 players on their roster at any
time.
Roster additions and deletions may only be made in the event a player voluntarily withdraws
from the league or suffers from a physical injury. A player from the waitlist of equal or
approximate skill will replace him only after the majority of the captains agree. In the case of a
first or second round pick withdrawal/injury of a player, a captain may choose anybody with
majority of captain votes, this special circumstance can only take place before game 8 is played.
After game 7, captains must refer to the waitlist for roster addition.
Latest roster additions will be before the 9th week of the league.
A single player transfer will be allowed with the majority of captains agreement.
Extreme Circumstances will be discussed by captains.
Players that drop from the league due to dissatisfaction with their team or league, will be
ineligible for the following league. Legitimate reasons will be taken into consideration on a case
by case basis.
High School students that are currently playing HS basketball are not allowed to play in the
league at the same time as their HS season due to MHSAA rules.
UNIFORMS/JERSEYS
The organizers will provide jerseys to the teams upon successful registration in the league.
All team members must have matching colored jerseys with numbers on back.
Each team member must have a unique jersey number. In the event that two players end up on the
same team have the same number from leagues prior, one of the players must purchase a new jersey.
All expenses are the responsibility of the players.
GAME MODIFICATIONS
There will be two 20-minute periods of continuous play.
The clock will only stop during the last two minutes of the second half of 20-minute playtime,
when a time-out is called, and at the referees’ discretion.
There will be no shot clock in effect.
A regular game clock will be used in the following situations: during the final two minutes of the
second half. During this time the clock will stop on all violations and fouls and for a made
basket.
The clock will not stop for a technical foul unless one of the previous situations
occur.
Half time will be three (3) minutes. The second half may start prior to the expiration of three (3)
minutes if both teams and the referees are ready for play.
Teams will have three (3) 45 second time-outs per game. Teams will receive one time-out per overtime period, no timeouts from regular gameplay will carry over to
over time.
A team may start the game with four (4) players but may not continue with less than three (3)
players on the court.
Scoring errors must be brought to the officials’ attention immediately in order to correct. Once
the referees have left the court, scoring errors may not be corrected.
If the team has 7 team fouls, the player fouled will get a bonus, or what is called a "one-and-
one” – that is, if the player makes the first free throw, he gets the opportunity to attempt a
second, but if he misses, the ball is live.
If the team has 10 team fouls in the game, the player fouled gets a double bonus – two free
throws following the 10th and above fouls.
A technical foul will add towards personal fouls for purposes of fouling out of the game
OVERTIME PROCEDURES
The overtime period will start with a jump ball at center court.
During regular season, ONE overtime will be awarded. A single overtime is 3 minutes in length
and stoppage time is only the last minute of the overtime.
If the score remains a tie after the overtime period; the game will end in a draw and be recorded
as such.
During the Playoffs, subsequent overtimes will be played in the same manner with a one minute
break between each additional overtime period until the game is set.
Overtimes during the playoffs are 3 minutes in length and stoppage time is only the last minute
of the overtime.
Teams will receive one (1) time-out per overtime period, no timeouts from regular gameplay will carry
over to overtime.
All fouls carry over into the overtime periods.
FORFEITS
The CRSD Basketball League is not responsible for teams that forfeit, and will not reschedule
forfeited games.
Teams must start the game at the scheduled game time with at least four players on the court.
If a team is not ready to start the game with at least four players signed in and on the court at
the scheduled game time, the team that is ready will receive 10 points, possession of the ball
and the game clock will be started.
If neither team is prepared to start the game with four players at the scheduled game time the
clock will start. The game will resume in the normal manner starting with a jump ball when both
teams have the minimum number of players required to play.
When ten (10) minutes have run off of the game clock and a team does not have the minimum
number of players to compete, the game will be declared a forfeit win for the team with the
minimum number of players.
A double forfeit will be declared if both teams are not ready to play after the expiration of ten
(10) minutes.
A forfeited game will be scored 10-0 for point differential purposes.
Teams that forfeit twice during the regular season are ineligible to participate in the post-
season.
LEAGUE RULES
During free throw situations, players may enter the zone on the release by the shooter.
Substitutions will only be allowed on dead ball situations. The substitute must report to the
scorers’ table and may only enter the court when called by the referees.
Players must stay on their sideline at all times during game play.
For the safety of all participants, players must remove all jewelry prior to the start of the game.
This includes wedding bands, religious symbols, wrist watches, and headwear.
Half-court violations WILL be implemented.
Cussing, Profanity, and Foul Language are strictly prohibited. A player will be issued a
technical foul upon committing these violations per the discretion of the refs. The technical foul will be regarded as a personal foul and added to the team’s overall number of fouls in the game.
Fighting is strictly prohibited. Any sort of fighting ON or OFF the court will lead to an
immediate expulsion from the league with no refunds whatsoever. Teams that lose a player due to fighting will NOT be allowed to replace that player.
The League Organizers will make the final calls in all disputes.
After 3 disciplinary technicals (i.e due to cursing, talking back to officials or shooting around
during a game) a player is suspended the next game. Captains and the league commissioner will
be responsible for recording such technicals.
Captains and co-captains will be held to higher standards and as a result after 2 disciplinary
actions will be suspended for one game.
Flagrant fouls will count as technical fouls in regards to disciplinary technical rules
Two technicals in one game is an automatic ejection.
After the one game suspension the player’s disciplinary technicals will reset.
If a player has a suspension for the first playoff game due to season techs, it will be a half game
for that first playoff game
Two technicals in playoffs will result in a player suspension
Championship game suspensions will be evaluated by the captains.
There is no shooting around on the sidelines allowed during games, after one verbal warning, the
offending player will be punished with a disciplinary technical. This will be recorded by the league
commissioner.
At the end of the last game anyone still in the gym will be given a verbal warning to leave within 10
minutes, anyone still in the gym after the 10 minute warning period will be issued a disciplinary
technical
TIE-BREAKERS
In order to determine standings, 2-points will be given to a WIN, 1-point for a TIE, and 0-points
for LOSS.

STATISTICS
Statistics will be compiled weekly. Statistics for current games will be available by game time the
following week.
Statistics are for recreational purposes only; the league is not responsible for inaccurate
statistics.
