Well week one of the Spring 2022 season is in the books. Black mambas had a bye week, so the matchups featured Team OT vs Tray Ballers at 2:30pm followed by Dat Smoke 2.0 vs 2K tuesdays at 3:10pm. The first game came down to the final moments of the second half. In the first half neither team could do much shooting wise but as the game progressed and players warmed up we started seeing the ball go in the basket more. The game featured a shocker as Adrian Witherspoon was not available for the game as he is out with injury. He was a huge part of the team as they brought home the title in 2021. Tray ballers got out to an early run but Team OT matched their energy and the game became very competitive as time went on. As the second half began both teams were trading buckets . Neither team was shooting the lights out from three as most of the shots came within 15ft of the basket. Team OT got in foul trouble early in the 2nd half but Tray ballers did little to capitalize on it. As the final seconds counted down Tray ballers player Darius Bullock hit a BIG THREE to bring the game within 3points but it was not enough time on the clock for a final push. Team OT wins with the final score of 38-35. The second game featured Dat Smoke 2.0 vs 2K Tuesdays. The game was interesting in the first 5 minutes but it ultimately ended in a blowout of 68-29 in favor of Dat Smoke 2.0. 2K Tuesdays did have some nice highlights I must say. Keonte Jones made Sportscenter top 10 highlights reel with 2 magnificent blocks on Omar Jackson. Might I add that Omar has a good 5 inches on Keonte. Also Adam Herrick is a crafty player who can get hot from field, as he did all he could to make the game competitive as possible. It would be great for each team to go back and watch the film of the games to gameplan for their next matchups, however Commissioner Bell was having technical issues with his equipment. WiFi was losing connection, live stat tracker was not working, speaker was not connecting via bluetooth, no scoreboard available and live video of the games was not working. This was new territory for the commissioner as this has never happened before but we have the solutions for the following weeks as everything has been sorted out. Week 2 will feature Dat Smoke 2.0(away) vs Black Mambas(home) at 2:30pm followed by 2K Tuesdays(home) vs Tray Ballers(away) at 3:10pm. Team OT will have the bye this week. Will Dat Smoke 2.0 keep the winning streak going? Who will get their first win of the season? And someone is bound to go 0-2 for the season who will it be? WE. SHALL. SEE. And hopefully those who tune in via livestream will see as well. Because you know...the technical difficulties.
