Burundi Premier League was back this weekend after a two week break following the involvement of Burundi under 20 in the CECAFA under 20 competition in Sudan .The young lions were eliminated by Sudan who went on to finish as runners up after losing in the finals aganist the Cranes of Uganda .
The 2019 Burundi Premier League champions Aigle Noir was among the first teams to be back on the field as they hosted 2014 Primus League champions Vital'O at Stadium NPPC on Saturday evening . Aigle Noir heading into the fixture were undefeated in four consecutive Burundi Premier League matches though drawing the last two matches a fate that made Aigle Noir loss the top spot to 2020 Burundi Cup champions Bumamuru Fc
Coach Albert Besora made no change from the squad that drew Flambeau du Centre before the break as his counter part Jean Gilbert Kagabo made two changes to his troops that conceded five second half goals to Bumamuru Fc losing a chance to go summit of Burundi Primus League.
Referee Manirakiza Bertrand got the match underway in Bujumbura and it was Aigle Noir who were active in the first minutes ,with Bienvenue Shaka former Afc Leopards of Kenya man almost finding the net in three minutes of play though his long range shot hit the crossbar before rolling out for a goal kick . Vital'O only chance in the first half came when Amissi Irakoze got a one on one chance with Aigle Noir SC shot stopper Aimes Fales Ndizeye but his efforts to chip the ball over Fales bore no fruits as the ball went wide .
Menayame Ndombe Vingile of Aigle Noir was shown a red card after a second yellow card to reduce Albert Besora men to 10 in the 62nd minute but Vital'O we're unable to use the opportunity as no attacks were witnessed from both sides in the second half. The match ended in a barren draw with Aigle Noir getting a third consecutive draw in Burundi Premier League though it was enough to take Aigle Noir at the summit of Burundi Premier League table with 22 points before Bumamuru Fc visit Kayanza United on Sunday afternoon.
