Burundi ,a small country in East Africa ,well known to many due to internal conflicts once witnessed in the country,is now taking the football world by storm ,Burundi was the first team from East Africa to have a player plying his trade in English Premier League in Saido Berahino turning out for West Bromwich Albion in 2010.Since then,Burundi is well known for exporting talents to top five leagues in Europe,the neighbouring Tanzania and Kenya and this seems to be getting better year after year.

In a small village in Muremera ,Gitega region well known for production of top players in Burundi Premier League comes Rahim Nsengiyumva,well known to his fans as "Villa".Rahim turns out for Burundi Premier League side,Vital'O with an ambition of becoming the best in African football.

Rahim ,just like majority of players in Burundi ,started his footballing career at Zebra academy as a goalkeeper. But soon Ukranian coach, Hodin Oleskii noticed his outfield abilites and changed the 15 year old's role to midfield,a position he has embraced and excelled in since then.

Villa only stayed at Zebra academy for one season before making a move to third division side,Ngozi City now known as Olympic Muremera.He managed 10 assists in his first season,a breakthrough that took him to Burundi National Ligue B side,Flambeau du Centre .

It is at Flambeau du Centre where Nsengiyumva's career picked up playing a vital role in the promotion of Flambeau du Centre to Burundi Premier League in 2017.His late goal took them to Burundi President's Cup inal in 2018 losing out to Aigle Noir.

Excellence
Rahim spent three seasons with Flambeau du Centre winning Burundi Premier League title and Coupe de l' Unité before an irresistible offer from Le Messager Ngozi was presented.
He is now the main man at Le Messager Ngozi.

At Ngozi ,Rahim was handed the captains armband and guided the team to two Burundi President's cup finals though losing both finals back to back.Rahim spent four seasons at Le Messager Ngozi before leaving for another Burundi Premier League side Vital'O.

Rahim signed for Vital'O early this season and has contributed majorly to their perfect start to the Primus Premier League season.They,alongside Bumamuru,are the only teams yet to lose.

Rahim aims at clinching the Burundi Premier League title with Vital'O this season and showcase his talent at CAF champions league where he believes the team has the ability to fighti it out with African football giants and make history. .

My Dream
Blessed with a knack for finding the right man with the right pass,the 20 year old playmaker aims to fight for a place in Burundi National team and guide his country to African Cup Nations 2023.

"I'm aiming to play in Afcon with Burundi ,I want to win the title ,I want to be the best in Africa ," he adds .

Rahim adds that " if we can manage to be the best in Africa,then I will be the best player of the tournament,"he ends.

Rahim has also set his target for this season in Burundi Premier League ,aiming at double figure assists and goals capping it with the Burundi Premier League title .
