Skillful Ballers Take Commanding Game 2 Victory in Junior Championship Series

The Skillful Ballers (JR) have taken a commanding 2–0 lead in the best-of-five junior championship series after a dominant 133–58 victory over the Mt. Zion Stars (JR) on Saturday night at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

Skillful Ballers wasted little time establishing control, racing to a 23–12 first-quarter lead before extending the advantage to 39–28 at halftime. The second half belonged entirely to Skillful, as they exploded for 41 points in the third quarter and another 53 in the fourth to pull away for the 75-point victory.

Alec Leonard delivered an all-around performance for the winners, finishing with 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks, while shooting 4-for-4 from three-point range. Ne’Shawn Frett was equally impressive with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Jah-shamane Daniel added 22 points and 6 assists. Jadey Glasgow chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds, with Kevin Prince contributing 15 points and 8 rebounds.

For Mt. Zion, Zion Phillips led the way with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Dillen Webbe added 14 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

Skillful Ballers' offensive firepower was evident throughout the game, as they knocked down 60 field goals, including seven three-pointers, while dominating the rebounding battle 63–43.

With the series now at 2–0, Skillful Ballers are just one victory away from claiming the junior championship. Mt. Zion, meanwhile, faces a must-win Game 3 as they look to keep their championship hopes alive.

Game 3 promises to be a critical showdown as Mt. Zion fights to extend the series while Skillful Ballers look to complete the sweep
