DA 5TH survived a late challenge from Run It Up on Friday night, securing a hard-fought 95-90 victory in one of the most entertaining games of the season at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

The contest featured explosive offense from both teams, with multiple players putting up big numbers in a back-and-forth battle that remained competitive until the final minutes.

DA 5TH was led by a balanced scoring attack, with Ryan Alfred and Franklyn Penn each scoring 20 points. Alfred added five rebounds and four assists, while Penn knocked down three three-pointers and contributed four rebounds, three assists, and a block.

Dione Blyden delivered another impressive all-around performance with 18 points, five assists, four rebounds, and four blocks. Dwayne Stoutt added 15 points and three steals, while Jaa-mala Miller chipped in with 12 points to give DA 5TH five players in double figures.

Run It Up received a game-high 27 points from Ashield Frett, who connected on five shots from beyond the arc and kept his team within striking distance throughout the game. Kymal Panchoo added 22 points and six rebounds, while Jamal S. contributed 17 points and six rebounds. Rushawn Johnson also reached double figures with 12 points.

Both teams shot the ball well, each making 37 field goals, but DA 5TH gained the edge at the free-throw line, converting 14 free throws compared to Run It Up's nine. DA 5TH also moved the ball effectively, recording 14 assists and making key defensive plays in crucial moments.

As the game entered its closing stages, DA 5TH remained composed under pressure, with timely baskets and clutch free-throw shooting helping them preserve the lead and secure the five-point victory.

The win keeps DA 5TH among the league's top contenders, while Run It Up showed plenty of offensive firepower despite falling just short in a thrilling contest that kept fans engaged until the final buzzer.
