Skillful Ballers Jr. Edge Mt. Zion Stars Jr. in Thrilling 65-63 Victory

The Skillful Ballers Jr. survived a fierce challenge from the Mt. Zion Stars Jr. on Friday evening, holding on for a dramatic 65-63 victory at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

In a game that remained close from start to finish, Skillful Ballers Jr. showed resilience in the closing moments to secure the hard-fought win and improve their season record.

Leading the way for the Ballers was Alec Leonard, who delivered another outstanding performance with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, four steals, and a block. Leonard's leadership and defensive intensity played a crucial role in helping his team withstand Mt. Zion's late rally.

Jah-shamane Daniel provided valuable support with 17 points and three steals, while Ne'Shawn Frett added 10 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Kevin Prince chipped in with nine points, including a clutch free throw in the final moments that helped seal the victory.

The Ballers' defense proved to be the difference-maker. They forced 13 steals and consistently disrupted Mt. Zion's offensive rhythm throughout the contest. Christian Mark also made a strong impact on the boards, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.

Mt. Zion Stars Jr. were led by Zion P., who scored a game-high 19 points while adding six rebounds and five steals. Dillen Webbe and Michael S. each contributed 13 points, helping keep the Stars within striking distance until the final buzzer.

Despite trailing late, Mt. Zion battled back and had opportunities to tie or take the lead in the closing minutes. However, Skillful Ballers Jr. remained composed under pressure, making key defensive stops and converting critical free throws to escape with the two-point victory.
