ON A MISSION Outlasts YOUNG EMPIRE in 85-80 Junior Division Thriller

ROAD TOWN, Virgin Islands — ON A MISSION (JR) held off a late charge from YOUNG EMPIRE (JR) to secure an exciting 85-80 victory Friday night at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.

In a back-and-forth contest featuring multiple momentum swings, ON A MISSION closed strong in the final minutes to escape with the five-point win and improve its season record to 1-2.

Damauri George powered ON A MISSION with a standout performance of 26 points, five rebounds, and a remarkable eight assists, orchestrating the offense throughout the game. Delonte H. added 25 points and five rebounds, while Henrique W. contributed 14 points, seven rebounds, one block, and three assists. Djonte George filled the stat sheet with 11 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, and Ajani S. chipped in eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.

ON A MISSION’s ball movement proved crucial, finishing with 27 assists as they repeatedly broke down YOUNG EMPIRE’s defense in key stretches.

YOUNG EMPIRE was led by Rico Bailey, who scored 26 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out five assists. Kyle Farrington added 15 points, six assists, and six rebounds, while Akiel Adonis contributed 14 points and four rebounds. Tristan Scroal provided a strong all-around effort with six points, four assists, and a rebound, and J’morie Frett pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds along with two assists.

Despite strong offensive production from both teams, ON A MISSION’s late execution proved decisive as YOUNG EMPIRE dropped to 1-2 on the season.
